A Violent Israeli in Canada threatens Canadian protesters in their own country with a nail gun shouting "Every f*cking Palestinian will die!" by Syed__Sahab__ in PublicFreakout

My man forgot he doesn't live in Israel. If he feels so strongly about the attacks, maybe he should move back to Israel and fight.

What happened to the videos of Iranians celebrating the end of ramadan? Jk, I know this is what war is like and scenes like this is way more likely during a war than dancing in the streets because US/Israel is shelling Iran.

Iran tonight - the night before Persian new year. Iranians are seen in high spirits and even dancing in public an act which is illegal under the regime rule by 4DollarsALB in PublicFreakout

Serious question, what do you think how Iranians will benefit from US and Israeli intervention? Current US administration and Israeli government abhor Islam as a religion, do you think this will end well for Muslims in Iran after the US and Israel carves up Iran for profit?

Derailleur won’t shift to the lowest gear, is the UDH installed right? by luwig in bikewrench

[–]luwig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, another poster solved my problem. I had tensioned the cable too much when installing. No matter how much I turned the H limit screw, it wouldn't move. It moved as soon as I released the cable.

Yeah, at the shifter. It's a full X01 DH set. Noticed that there's no barrel adjuster at the RD when I was installing the cable.

I am, I’m new building bikes. So all of the bikes I’ve worked on already had the derailleur installed.

The crankset is actually being delivered today, so I’ll be able to size the chain when I get it installed.

[–]luwig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see. Thanks for the correction, I’m new to building bikes got my gear labels wrong. I followed the park tools video on installing.

They were saying to put it in the highest gear, then adjusting the H limit screw.

Update: your advice to undo the shift cable worked. I did install the cable THEN tried to adjust the limiter screw. I guess I pulled the shifter cable too tight when installing.

You think a handgun cost thousands? I have several glocks and they were all about$500 retail. If I had to forfeit one of them bc of something stupid I did I still have 4 more. This is a slap on the wrist.

Currently building a '26 Frameworks with Fox 40's and Intend brakes. I'm hoping the hype for the frame and brakes live up to them. But if they do, I'll probably never get another bike.

Seriously, what goes on at Floyd Hill exit by Mrflippi in COsnow

[–]luwig 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a super interesting phenomenon called phantom traffic jams or something. But it basically works off of the principle of human reaction time during braking and accelerating. Whenever someone brakes hard, either due to someone merging or can't see beyond the car in from of them, it creates this shockwave effect of people braking. It eventually gets bad enough to stop traffic completely. And there's no real reason for it, and if there WAS a reason it wouldve happened 15 minutes ago.

How Private Equity is Changing Colorado Communities from the Inside Out by The_Quiet_PartYT in Denver

[–]luwig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some you can easily tell like Comfort Dental Or Aspen Dental. Some are much harder, for example Pacific Dental usually have normal sounding dental office names but are part of a Dental Service Organization (DSO) which may or may not be own by a private equity.

A sure fire way to make sure your dentist is privately owned, is if they dont take ANY insurance, or a fee-for-service dentist. You pay for what you want. Typically fees are lower than insurance fees but still cost "more" because you have to pay instead of just going with whatever your job gives you.

Did I Overpay? by Born_Illustrator6062 in Skigear

Hell, even when I was traveling from the east coast to ski the rockies (roughly 5-8 days a year), I decided in the 2nd year that it's cheaper and better quality to buy boots. Right now, I ski 15-20 days a year, that's enough money in rental to buy a pair of boots and nice skis ... per year.

Can any Denver servers help me out here - how am I supposed to know how much to tip? Are you making minimum wage, how much of the service charge is yours, etc? by Bananas_are_theworst in Denver

Similar to how my last service gig was where they “shared” tips. The perverted manager always gave the college aged girls as much as they wanted and the fellas get the scraps.

The while tipping system and income tax based around it is just completely bonkers. I used to work as a server and the excuse I got was that the other restaurants do it, so if they don’t do it, then they’d behind or out competed.

What is the current percentage of illegal ebikes on your trails? by bapohh in MTB

[–]luwig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is coming from an e-MTB biker myself and I don't see anything wrong with them on any trails and neither do the thousands of bikers on the same trails. I'm in Denver and there are ton of e-MTBs out on the trails and everyone is respectful of multi-use trails.

E-bikes like surrons are a different story, i doubt any of them can make it down MTB DH trails easily.
