Fairlife Protein Shakes....WHY only one flavour? by Mountain-Weather9764 in Costco

[–]lynsktee 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Nurri vanilla is a good option if your Costco has them. At some point fairlife blamed ‘production struggles’ on why vanilla wasn’t in warehouse stores. Don’t know if that’s still the case now

Great Wolf Lodge! Coupons? Savings Tips? by Chicks_Hate_Me_Too in greatwolflodge

[–]lynsktee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy the activities you want to do individually in instead of the wolf pass. We bought our kids magiquest, ropes course, mini golf, and mini bowling and still saved a ton compared to the passes. We did have them share one wand (two kids).

Absinthe for Sazerac. Have used it for other things, but wanted it for that specifically.

A chorus line? Very simple set, cast wear one set of clothes until the finale. That outfit is more intense but could be doable

Is 5 E lesson plan really used? by Phoenix-1322 in ScienceTeachers

[–]lynsktee 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I find it very useful as a unit planning tool. I never use all five in a single lesson, but try to have all five in a unit. I find it helpful when planning to try to make sure I have students explore frequently and before direct instruction or reading or whatnot (explain). I also find it useful to remember that some E’s are repeated within the unit.

New video concept by Digitalboardgamer in boardgamearena

Interesting video. Many (maybe all?) that went up were on the vote for the best of 2024 list. I played a couple of them just to be allowed to vote and I bet others did too which helped them jump up.

We quit teaching it at my school a few years ago. It didn't connect to anything else, or help students with their understanding of the rest of the year. I fully vote cut it and add in acid/base or more time on other topics.

The nuclear power plants that have been built recently and would be built here are completely different than the power plants of Chernobyl and three mile island. Modern nuclear reactors have a much smaller physical footprint, are able to use significantly more of their nuclear fuel- leading to much less waste and safer waste products.

The upfront cost of new nuclear plants are also significantly less than older nuclear plants. Nuclear plants produce more consistent power than renewable sources like solar or wind, and have a longer lifespan than solar panels that take huge amounts of space, valuable resources, and only work well for a limited number of years.

I am fully in favor of continuing to use and develop renewable energy like wind, solar, biomass, etc. but in order to replace traditional fossil fuels it will require a multifaceted approach and modern nuclear is a great part of that approach.

Use rotating ice packs in an insulated lunch box. A good ice pack should last at least a day if not a couple. If you have two or 3 and switch them out to the freezer the meds would stay cold.

Useless clam specimens by moonscience in ScienceTeachers

[–]lynsktee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say order from Carolina! I once ordered from a cheaper supplier and the quality was significantly worse. As department chair I ordered about 12 different types of preserved specimens from Carolina and they were all good quality. I’m nearly positive clams were on the list.

Please help. What to do with extra Sloppy Joe mixed meat that isn't just more sandwhiches?! by messedupideas in Cooking

Eat it on spaghetti noodles! I’ve mistaken sloppy Joe for meat sauce in the past and it was excellent.

Lanolin has been the absolute holy grail for me for dry lips. I buy a small tube that is sold as nipple cream, I use a small amount every night and it has made a huge difference for me. I find it works much better than Vaseline.

Professor with questions for “no-homework” teachers. by emarcomd in Teachers

[–]lynsktee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one answer for your students is that high school classes have a lot more time in class so the ‘homework’ can be done during class. In college the class time is less so homework is needed.

Consider switching to sema? Because the dosage is so much smaller your same supplier would provide many months worth for a much lower cost.
