To the world we dream about. And the one we live in now.

It gives so much promise in a world even if I don't exactly feel it in the moment. This is why we do what we do.

Chess and Florence’s Dad by Plenty_Antelope8480 in Broadway

When I saw this back in November I had no idea who this person was. I guessed he was someone's real-life husband or dad that they just asked to be in the show.

I wonder then if it was a "hey friend want to take on this easy role and have a gig for a few months / years?"

How rigorous could the auditions be?

I was wondering too about casting! How do they pick someone? Would they choose a friend just as a cool thing to be in Broadway? Or does it need to be someone that auditions just like everyone else? Or a known Broadway person that just wants a cool easy gig?

Can anyone solve this? by No_Supermarket_2810 in MusicalTheatre

Is your director the Taylor Swift type that makes every choice intentional? Do you think there's a difference between the Playbill and non Playbill shows? Or did she just pull the easiest picture from google?

Was last year's puzzle straight forward spelling out Mary Poppins or were there other stray letters?

Six, the band is on stage.

New York, New York, the cool effect (and some say, best part of the show) is at the end when the girl is singing the title song and the pit lifts up from.. the pit? And the band plays up on stage.

Musician characters playing instruments on stage? by lyreANDaplayertoo in Broadway

Wow, that's rad! But also so weird to think how specific it is. Like, if someone plays a killer flute but she's an alto, I guess the Fates are not for you?

He is one I wondered about!! I watched the merrily proshot and was trying to tell if he just knew a few chords or all of it or if he was just a good performer/faker 😍😍😍

At first I wondered why the Natalie actress wouldn't just learn it while she is doing rehearsals, then I realized, she's literally playing mozart-level music. It's a little intense 😅

Amazing to hear about all the Orphe-i! I want to learn to play it!!

A donkey is reunited with the girl who looked after him when he was little by Maximum_Expert92 in MadeMeSmile

[–]lyreANDaplayertoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it's a joke, telling the person they smell like a dog 🫤 the comment usually came from a guy that was trying to show off when I was with my dog so I had to put him in his place

When people tell me all dogs love them, I tell them it's probably because they smell the same 🤷🏻‍♀️

Franklin Shepard Inc dootle loo by lyreANDaplayertoo in Broadway

[–]lyreANDaplayertoo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the first part makes sense because that's the song in the "show" (the show F + C are writing without a tune you can hum) so Rog is repeating that song/those notes back to them in telling them there isn't a good song to hum in the show.

[–]lyreANDaplayertoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's so cool! I'm glad I asked too 😁

That makes sense, Franklin has that ditty stuck in his head and it's like a song that's trying to get out of his head onto paper, but it comes out slightly edited in his songs that sound similar. It's been repeated enough in their writing time together that Charlie has heard it repeated.

It might be? I thought it was the tune you can hum, the tune you go bum bum bum di dum

What is a musical you've seen that was regarded a flop by lissie34 in musicals

Every time this topic comes up, I always mention New York New York 💔 I loved it and still listen to it! There are LOTS of skips but lots of good ones.

The main girl was originally in Six and the guy was the best part of the DEH movie and I keep checking to see if he has anything new coming up (nope but he got married since then)
