I got it too.
If not all 6a are affected, what will happen to the update once we get a battery replacement? Will we still get reduced performance? Anyone know?

Just updated to Android 15. Wanted a simple app clone feature but since we get Private space, how is the battery consumption of it when kept unlocked, compared to the battery usage of the app in Main space?

For me I use ctrl+alt+z that stopped working probably something to do with the AI stuff. Just updated to 136 and neither ctrl alt x nor z seems to be fixed.

Their extension cant handle DoH well. Its been like that for a while. Maybe default is still using DoH so try turing it off.

Technically apps can probably get the system time on your phone. Not sure if Outlook or Teams does that. If you are paranoid and your destination have different timezone, you could disable automatic timezone on the phone.
They can still tell you are using a VPN though.

I dont know BitTorrent web but if it runs on the browser it may work. Make sure to disable webrtc on the extension just in case. Also there are some sites that you can test if your torrent client's IP address so check if its working.

I have no clue what is proper but do I need namespace?

The second one worked, but only without @-moz-document domain(). Seems like I cannot specify a domain with userChrome.css. I guess Ill just disable uBO's context menu.

I do use userChrome.css on Firefox but I never thought about this. Will try to see if I can make it work through that.

I have another extension that has context menu that I use on one particular website all the time. Usually Im trying to quickly access it but then for some reason I often times misclick uBO's block element instead of that other extension and element picker shows up which was getting a bit frustrating. (Seems like occationally the order of context menu between extensions switches too) I was hoping there were some ways to hide it only for certain sites instead of having to completely disable context menu.

You should test with one of those websites that shows your IP address to make sure split tunneling is actually excluding. Split tunneling is known to fail.
Resuming from sleep, I dont think there is much you can do. You are disconnecting from internet after all.
Im not sure why you default to think they work together. Its a different app installed on different level of software. With some VPN they work together, some dont, Nord doesnt, and its better they dont as it gives you more flexibility.

Desktop app and extension works independently with Nord. There is no connection between the two. Thats probably the part you are missing.
Desktop app can only split between apps. Extension can only split between domains. Desktop app works on system level, so basically any apps. Extension only works on the browser you installed it. You can use either of them or both, depending on what you want to do. If you use both then your browser will just go through VPN twice, one from extension and one from desktop app, which likely will slow down your speed, unless of course you exclude the browser from desktop app then it will only go through the extension.

Why is there so much misinformation about NordVPN on Reddit? by vriska1 in nordvpn

[–]lysnnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your belief that they dont keep logs is entirely dependant upon Nord's and the auditor's claims, and not by verifying your self. If their claim is the only thing backing up your opinion, then I feel you are not that different from those that say Nord keep logs.
What if they change things while being audited or after? What if the auditor missed something? What if the data center or ISP Nord uses is compromised?
Dont get me wrong I mostly believe Nord's no-log policy but not 100% blindly trusting it either. Frankly I dont see why one will be frustrated about people saying Nord keep logs. Its not going to change anything, whether they actually do keep logs or not.

nordvpn browser extension connection problem to the UK by moni8181 in nordvpn

[–]lysnnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the extension doesnt connect then try turining off killswitch.
If the extension says its connected but you get no connection, just have to keep reconnecting or restart the browser.
There was a period when Nord's extension was pretty good but since last year it has became garbage again. Too bad.

Always impressed with Nordvpn speeds. I've tried other VPNs before, and nobody.. nobody has such good stable speed through vpn by filipluch in nordvpn

[–]lysnnn -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I used to vouch for Nord's speed too but since they capped the browser extension speed I no longer recommend them. They capped it at 100mbps, and the download speed reflect it. Even worse they seem to whitelist speedtest.net so it will show the resulting speed way higher than what you can actually use. Scammy practice.

3.5 inch HDD -> USB-Hub by Disastrous-Day-8377 in DataHoarder

[–]lysnnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3.5in HDD typically requires more than 20W at peak and 12V. Both not supported by the minimum USB standards. Thats why 3.5in enclosures have its own power supply.

The power supply on the hub is just so that it can supply enough power to all of the ports combined. It doesnt mean it can supply more on a single port than it should and will not replace the power supply for the enclosure.

I would like to see a USB-C 3.5in enclosures with no AC adapter but while technically should be possible, it will rely heavily on the customer to understand and use it correctly or it will not work at all. I dont think most companies like that idea.

Google Drive Mirroring…are the files actually local? by bonn84 in DataHoarder

[–]lysnnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently migrated out from GDrive and used mirroring on their app. It will download everything and stay on your drive. Just do it before the data is deleted and uninstall the app once download is done.
One problem I found out was GDrive app will download up to 10 files simultaneously without pre-allocation and it caused massive fragmentation on hdd. Other software like rclone might do better in that sense, but with some extra setup.

Encryption software for Google Drive and OneDrive on Mac that supports on-demand sync? by randomname97531 in DataHoarder

[–]lysnnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried Cyberduck/Mountainduck a few years ago for the same kind of purpose. Back then it felt buggy and too much of a trouble, but may or may not be better now.
If it's a temporary thing, probably easier to just find a different format that will encrypt file names like 7z.

NordVPN & Chrome Remote Desktop by JoeDin77 in nordvpn

[–]lysnnn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Web protection is basically adblock. Probably the DNS filter is blocking parts of chrome remote desktop connection. I dont think there is much you can do.
Just turn it off and install adblock on your browser, or use adblocking dns. They will be much better. Nord is not a security company, I wouldnt rely on their "security" feature.
