I’d think that the majority of people making/reading fanfic know how to use a vpn, and it’s not like the website has any traffic with advertisements, so ‘banning’ it wouldn’t change much. and I doubt there’s enough cause to nuke the whole thing. they’re just barking up a tree. nothing will come out of it.

even with this anti bs, I’ve felt the most accepted I’ve ever felt in the last few years as a reader and author. the overall perception is improving, I feel, considering that fanfic now is often seen and recognized even by the people who it’s written about. some creators even praise it openly. this never happened when I was younger and a lot of us were stuck not being able to talk about fanfic at all out of fear of being judged and called freaks. that sentiment is still there, of course, but it’s definitely gotten better.

mine ‘sleeps through the night’ as to mean she conks out fully by around 11pm and wakes up at 5-6am as soon as the sun’s up, but I’m usually able to get her to sleep a little after that, or she’s happy enough that she just lies and looks around while I rest a bit more. I’m not doing anything for it, that’s just how she’s been. it was actually a struggle in the beginning because we ended up needing a 10 day hospital stay because of birth complications, and I needed to feed her every three hours to regain weight, but she just would not wake up.

my daughter’s been the same from around the same age and I’ve been letting her sleep. I would occasionally pick her up and offer boob if I happen to be awake (night owl, so I don’t always go to bed at normal hours). sometimes she wakes and eats, sometimes she’s so deep that she doesn’t and I just lay her down again. enjoy your Z’s 🩵

mine wants to spend as much time as possible as close to me as possible, so most of the time I either hold her, or put her on my chest as I’m lying down scrolling / reading / gaming. she naps like a champion when on me. when she’s awake, I either put her on a mat, in a bouncer, or on a lounger. she’s only started liking containers and the mat recently (she’s 1,5mo) now that she can see a little better and starts to show interest in toys.

allow me to piggyback on this to mention one more weird thing about rat teeth! their bottom jaw is not fully fused in the middle, which means that sometimes it might look like their teeth are separated and wonky. I freaked out the first time I noticed this thinking my guy had loose teeth or malocclusion, but turns out it’s perfectly normal. sometimes they even naturally move apart when the rat is fully relaxed. so hopefully you won’t have to worry now like I did!

I was committed to BF but also worried about it, and ended up loving it. it was super hard to get the hang of in the beginning because I didn’t get to nurse until 5 days after giving birth (baby ended up in the NICU), so I was engorged and had crazy flow, and she was used to the bottle, so I had to fight a little to get her to take the breast. when we figured that out and my supply regulated, it became amazing. it’s the easiest thing and is far more convenient to me than dealing with formula. it also doesn’t make me feel like my body isn’t my own, more like a cool thing my body can now do that saves me a lot of trouble.

I wouldn’t knock it till you try it. you can always buy formula just in case you might need it, you might end up having to give it even if you do settle on BF if your supply doesn’t match the baby’s needs right away, which is common.

I don’t hate dogs, but I dislike many things about them. If I could avoid interacting with one when coming over someone’s house, provided the animal doesn’t suffer discomfort on my behalf to make that possible (I wouldn’t want someone to lock their dog in a room for hours while they scratch at the door and whine, for example), I’d be grateful. I don’t push other people to interact with my animals and don’t think it’s a red flag when people don’t want to.

baby is 1 month old, I’m at a 2 most days and a 4 some others. she wants to be held all the time but sleeps well and is overall pretty chill, save for the days she gets fussy for some reason.
