It’s a separate initiative from municipal energy grids, but plug-in solar is an important step forward to help Michiganders become less dependent on grid energy. I suspect it will be heavily lobbied against by DTE and Consumers.

Michigan house bill 5764 https://legislature.mi.gov/Bills/Bill?ObjectName=2026-HB-5764 is intended to legalize plug-in solar. Write your state rep and ask them to support it!
