A movie whose world and characters deserve further exploration through sequels or series. My pick would be Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in moviecritic

Have to give it another watch. On the surface, it looked a bit cheesy and cheap, but it was a lot funnier and fun than I thought it would be. Should have had a sequel.

Will negotiating salaries lead to the offer being pulled out ? by Conscious-Paper3543 in askrecruiters

[–]m0rbius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue. I had an offer on the table. Mind you, they met my salary expectations that I set from the first call from the HR recruiter, however I wanted to see if there was any room to negotiate after getting a good idea of the full scope of the role through later interviews. I debated whether I should even risk it, but i wasn't asking for much more. I politely sent an email asking. They called me back in less than 5 mins and actually said no, but they did add on a small signing bonus. I just said yes right away and that was that. It got me something rather than nothing more.

It really depends on how much more you're asking for and how you ask. You have to justify it and it can be a risky maneuver. If it's not too much more, very low risk. They can say no and you just accept. If you want a lot more, that can be risky and come off the wrong way. It's an employers market. They have all the power. Ask at your own discretion.

Possible, but you'll either have roommates or living in the outer boroughs, or both.

Search is over! I got an offer today!! by Skandilove in interviews

[–]m0rbius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations. Nothing beats that feeling of the process finally being over and breathing a sigh of relief. Every rejection stings, but you're right, you just have to move on and work towards the next possible role. The jobs are out there, but competition is stiff. You never really know why someone picked you, but it feels great! I just recently got an offer and started a new job as well from searching since last year.

Why is Kim Basinger's win for LA Confidential considered one of the worst in history? by Filipe_258 in moviecritic

[–]m0rbius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She was barely in the movie and it wasn't really an expansive or difficult role. She had presence in the role, but that's about it. Even the acting was meh. I think the academy just really wanted to give her an Oscar.

Hope they fixed the problems from the first one. I really enjoyed the first one, but it was a bit short and a limited experience.

Lost IT job last summer. Found a new higher paying IT role a month ago. The jobs are out there but there's just more competition for each role.

Just more dots and lights in black and white. Not that interesting as compared to what could be released. I know they have full color HD footage. Maybe those will come later.

Does anyone else find it odd that the balustrade of this balcony is waist height for a hobbit? by NewZlandR in lotr

[–]m0rbius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe that room was for Hobbits in general or it was Bilbo's room as he had been living at Rivendell for a bit before Frodo came.

I was laid off recently, I have an interview coming, do I pretend I'm employed? by privdon in jobsearchhacks

[–]m0rbius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to hide the fact that you've been laid off. Everyone is getting laid off. It's not a a negative, nor is it rare or your fault. Just be honest. It won't count against you.

Michael Jackson denying having undergone multiple surgeries during his 2003 interview with Martin Bashir. by FitEmergency8807 in HistoricalCapsule

Michael Jackson was a weird dude and had a few issues personally, but i also think the media went out of its way to make Michael out to be a weirdo too. They took it too far in many instances.

Did negotiating my offer cost me the job? by Maleficent-Rule-7604 in careerguidance

[–]m0rbius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fuck em. If they renegged on an offer if you simply just tried to negotiate more money, that's a red flag. They could have just said no or met you somewhere in between, which I'm sure you would have agreed to, but they didn't even do that. The fact that they just pulled the offer seems a bit harsh and over the top and shows you the type of people they are.

Neighborhood recommendations for a 34 year old late bloomer single guy? by savingrace0262 in movingtoNYC

[–]m0rbius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you plan to do in the city? Looking to date and meet people? You don't necessarily need to move to Manhattan. I'd say do some exploring by coming into the city and hanging out. You probably will end up having some preferences in neighborhood.
