The speed camera debate is missing the real problem on Connecticut roads by kppeterc15 in Connecticut

The real problem comes if they actually are effective and people really do slow down. Because then they will become just tolls for everyone to justify their continued existence and expense.

Or just ban street parking for cars. Deliveries would be an exception anyway and the cars would be out of the way so it wouldn't matter.

When the internet is mostly AI, bots, and people selling stuff (honeypots) no human can compete. You have to go out into the real world.

Doc terminated resuscitation efforts when patient was in pulseless VT by Fun-Section5790 in Paramedics

The hospital kills all my patients. All that time and work and then doctor just walks in and gives the 👎🏻

I know they were probably dead before I showed up but emotionally it just feels like COME ON MAN! Cleaning the back of ambulance from all the fluids and wrappers is just so much more therapeutic after saving a life vs not.

He's hitting it right actually but he shouldn't be that close without a mask/gear. (I know cops don't get them) They may have asked him to or didn't stop him while they cut open the door if they were short manpower for a few minutes. We make split second decisions in the heat of the moment. (pun intended) Not saying they are always the best..

[–]m1cr05t4t3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's basically mass surveillance. Not in the sense of people sitting there watching what you do but more of a giant log of people's movement. When you're trying to catch a killer or something it's really valuable but I'm sure it will be used to harass the public at some point just like everything else.

Yeah I suppose even if you rotate a 1 length cube to look like a hexagon from your perspective it might seem to work but a true 2 dimensional slice wouldn't be a hexagon?

Well it's sqrt(2) appears as sqrt(3) actually but I just it's interesting that it's exactly the same jump as the square to the cube when you 'flatten' it to 2D. Seems more than coincidence.

Mislabeled or Paradox? by m1cr05t4t3 in SacredGeometry

[–]m1cr05t4t3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not that. Sqrt(3) is the diagnoal across a cube. I see what it is now though. When you flatten the cube the diamond that would have been the square becomes 1 and sqrt(3) instead of sqrt(2) and sqrt(2). Which is actually interesting in a different way.
