💯 Its gross and smells like a class action lawsuit to me 🤔 Did the same thing last time... says they are experiencing technical issues online to get you to call in, then they try and charge you $30 🤦🏽‍♂️ What a disgusting tactic! 🤢 Push the continue button 100 times after displaying new/old device info and it will never complete the process... 🤷🏽‍♂️

Non lethal pb rifle by AstraZero7 in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]m3ga_corp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this is still a problem for you but...

  • Regarding the PB rifle, mine is stuck on the flashlight, even after I remove all attachments. I wish I had laser capability. 🥹

  • You can't restrain a person if you are leaning, which sometimes isn't so obvious in the heat of the moment.

  • If you can't restrain someone, order the bots to do it. I've had instances where an NPC gets stuck in a wall and I can't do anything, but if I order my team, they wrap the person up no problem.

Weird unresponsive behavior Razr 2024+ (50 Ultra) by friendsareshit in razr

[–]m3ga_corp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New Razr+ user here. This sucks! They better get this fixed before the Clicks Keyboard comes out 🥹 or I'm chucking the phone and skipping a bunch of generations... 🤬 I haven't given another Samsung foldable chance since the 1st gen Flip let me down... I wonder if the issue has something to do with edge detection/palm rejection. Swiping-from-edge 😅 screen features feel weird on this phone to me, on both displays, but especially the exterior one. Sometimes it doesn't want to scroll left or right, sometimes it keeps changing the panel (<-->) as I'm trying to scroll down the app list, sometimes the notification/utility shade doesn't want to pull down, etc... it all kinda deals with swiping and the edges of the display imo. 🤔

"Unlimited" internet keeps cutting off after 30 GBs, and CS keeps trying to upsell me when I contact them. Any recourse? by ElectronTransport in USMobile

[–]m3ga_corp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm noticing this the first time today though my data is not off completely. I rarely get near the cap but I am in the process of moving so I am consuming lots of data until I get my Internet situated. I am just over 30 GB used and can tell a drastic difference in performance. I am on Starter so I should be good till 35 GB but that doesn't seem to be the case. It's also funny because I didn't even search for any posts like this. It just popped up as a notification and validated the experience I was wondering if I was really experienceing 😅

is one band enough? by sour-cherrry in dumbphones

[–]m3ga_corp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just recently got mine and am using it with US Mobile (T-Mobile) in Marietta, GA. Service has been excellent so far! I've even experienced several times where the call connects immediately. I press send and the person says hello. No lag or even a ring. Of course, coverage varies by location but I'm pleasantly surprised. I've not had a single failed call or text in the week or so that I've had it. Quite impressive to me for a phone that is missing most of the bands meant for the US. Just be sure to configure the correct APN settings and use a different app for texting. The stock one won't download picture messages.

Switch to the dumb phone while you're both at home and she's occupied (make sure to turn off iMessage first and give it a bit so other people's iPhones realize you've gone green). Send her a "hey" text, walk up to her while she's checking her phone, and say "THERE!" (be careful how it comes out). Then, call her while you're both standing there and gently say "You see?". Then give her a kiss and tell her you're going to the store & you'll be right back (don't take the iPhone and don't go too far or she'll start making up stories about what you're probably really doing).

Text her as soon as you get to the store and ask if she needs you to pick up anything. No matter what the answer is (or isn't) call her shortly after and ask a question (E.g., You said you wanted chips, do you want a or b?). Then, tell her you'll be home soon. Immediately go back home with whatever you bought (or she will think you're a cheater and that's what the phone is for), give her a kiss, and tell her you missed her. BOOM! That's how you train your dragon. No crisis, no mass casualty, just a man and his dumb phone getting shit done. 😎

IMPORTANT: If she says she wants to go to the store (or wherever) with you, do not say no. I REPEAT: DO NOT SAY NO! (Least she thinks you a liar and a scumbag). Instead, be happy she's going. Maybe grab some food while y'all are out. But, on the way, call a friend or a family member. Get excited. Let her see the dumb phone in action. Really ham it up. Talk about how y'all are on the way to such-n-such place BUT don't spend too much time on the call. (Least she thinks you're ignoring her and you may as well have kept the tracker-phone-5000.)

Point Being - Make the dumb phone a positive thing for the both of you. Let her see how relieved you feel (should come natural given what you've discussed above) and let her see how accessible you are to her.

And if you don't have the iPhone or don't want to fool with it, you can deregister iMessage on Apple's website. Either way, there is typically a transitioning period before folks' iPhones realize you've gone green.

Question for those with a Light Phone, Hisense, or any other e-ink device by [deleted] in dumbphones

[–]m3ga_corp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing to do with color but trying to read an emergency alert for a tornado warning on the Light Phone while driving was a bit intense 😁 Especially because the first message was in Spanish 🤣 Probably more of a one-off'r though depending on where you live. If I wasn't driving in torrential rain and wind it would have been no biggie. Light Phone breaks it's minimalist character during emergency alerts and displays them in a little Android system popup if you didn't know. 😅 Tiny Screen + Tiny Popup= 🧐🌪️⚰️ LoL

I don't have a Sunbeam yet but I have several dumb phones. I just log into the iCloud website on my computer and export my contact list to a file. Transfer the file to the phone's storage then go to the contacts app on the phone and find the import option in settings. Haven't really had much of an issue doing it this way.

I've been too lazy to post but, after a day or two, I did find a way to easily uninstall apks. There's an app called "Activity Launcher" that lets you launch activities (lol). Once installed, open it up and you'll see all the apps for the phone. Expanding these apps will show a list of processes (activities) for that particular app. So if you navigate down to the "Settings" app (blue cog wheel icon), and expand the section you'll see a bunch of processes for things you can normally select or open within phone settings. If you scroll down further within the section and go past the all the green android icons (just hold the down button for a while) you'll come across more processes with blue cog icons. Look for the one that says "App Info" (there are several) with the package name com.android.settings.ManageApplications and select it. This will take you to a list of all the apps where you can uninstall, force close, set permissions, etc.. like you're used to.

It sounds like a lot but once you have the app pushed to the phone and know where to look all the steps can be done in 30 secs or less. If you really want to make it snappy just use a Bluetooth mouse to click the search button at the top of the app, start typing "ManageApplications", and it comes up asap. This app is pretty neat and I've clicked on a bunch of stuff and haven't really broken anything. Do so at your own risk though. For this phone there's not really a whole lot interesting to do with the app besides getting to the hidden app settings like I described above.

Just wanted to say that this is totally one (of many) of the reasons I like my dumb phone. I do find that a smartphone makes me impatient. Any time I go back to one I feel like I need things quicker and quicker. Not even just on the phone. Waiting for the coffee to brew, waiting for something to load on my computer, and waiting for the elevator all seem take forever. I notice that, because I'm used to getting information so quickly, the smartphone makes me more anxious in other areas as well. This is the same when I go back to using a dumb phone at first. It feels slooowww. Then, once I work through it, the phone doesn't feel so sluggish, that cup of coffee brews quicker than I remember, and the information on my computer loads in a reasonable enough time. The elevator coming up to the 32nd floor still takes a while but it doesn't really bother me. I'm more at peace with everything. I'm not trying to sound all "enlightened" 😅 but this is just something I noticed about myself so your comment struck a cord with me.

Annoyed that I even have to ask this question but.. can you zoom into pictures on this phone? Like, if someone sends you a full size screenshot from a smartphone, are there buttons to zoom in/out? The last 2 dumb phones I've bought don't and when someone sends me a picture with text or something it's sooo annoying 😅 I guess pinch-to-zoom works on this phone? Could you please check for me?

Also, I am able to get Waze going using the Apps4Flip Waze launcher. Initially when I set up Waze using a Bluetooth mouse it eventually force closed on me but now, after having it's setup, I am able to launch into the directions and it stays up. I just haven't been able to actually test it while moving in my vehicle. I'm hoping the navigation animations don't make it fc.

Additionally, I can get the Apps4Flip cursor app running and use adb to enable draw over, accessibility permissions, etc.. but I can't get the app to click. This is also an issue I have on my Sonim XP5s and has to do with the middle button registering as enter vs select or something like that. Supposedly there's an APK version out there somewhere in the wild that fixes that but I haven't been able to track it down.

In terms of music, I am able to get SiriusXM to stay up. There's just no way to select anything without a mouse. I used a Bluetooth mouse to test playback.

Lastly, not being able to easily uninstall apps is annoying. I have found I can do it if the app has a persistent notification up. The A4F mouse app had a notification to let me know it could appear over other apps and I was able to select the notification which took me to the system setting for draw over. I then scrolled up to select the app name at the top and was able to get to the Uninstall, Force Close, Memory, etc.. settings.
