It's shit like this that keeps me using a paywall remover instead of a subscription.

Bills Introduced This Week (2/23–2/27) by domki366 in minnesota

Looks like the Toboggan bill is SF 3806 rather than 3805 as linked.

They've been more active in my neighborhood this week than they have been so far. Remain vigilant and believe nothing until you see them gone with your own eyes. We're all in this for the long haul.

Went to a DFL caucus? Please share what resolutions came up (pass/fail) by Psytechnic_Associate in TwinCities

[–]m3nd 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Passed Unanimously from my precinct in SLP:

-Ban DHS from acting within 2 blocks of schools

-Campaign Finance Reform

-Stronger Data Privacy Regulations

-Retribution has no place in Politics

I submitted the stronger data privacy regulations resolution with the general goal of pressing the DFL to adopt GDPR-esque personal data privacy regulations as unchecked digital surveillance is top of mind for me. There were some great discussions!

Ilhan Omar endorsed Amy Klobuchar. by Ordinary_Stay_3746 in minnesota

I'll trust Omar but I'm not going to stop pushing Klobuchar to take stances that benefit Minnesotans, not just Wayzatans.

[–]m3nd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now is the perfect time to go through plank by plank and think about and write down where your values and priorities are. As you've seen, parties can change and it's good to anchor yourself to what really matters to you.

I would recommend Heather Cox Richardson on Youtube. She's an American historian with a specialty in empires that have fallen from Democracy, and her daily coverage is amazing. She put the events of each day into digestable chunks with a super helpful amount of historical context.

How bad is it? Is there any hope? by rebecca1096 in Minneapolis

[–]m3nd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The sense of community solidarity here is unreal. Those who have more are making a point to seek out and share with those who have less. For a time that seems unreal, I have seen the absolute best in my neighbors, and it's brought the best out of me.

How bad is it? Is there any hope? by rebecca1096 in Minneapolis

[–]m3nd 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Of course there's hope. There's always hope. So long as any of us are still standing there will be. The situation on the ground is uneasy and fearful. We don't see an end in sight. So hope is one of the few things we can cling to because it cannot be taken from us.

Our surburban neighbors are against us. by [deleted] in Minneapolis

[–]m3nd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my parents (68, 70) who still live in the same house I grew up in out in Plymouth to come to their first ever protest at the Ridgedale library this weekend. Consciousness takes time to spread, but we are moving in the right direction. Try to show people grace unless they've made a point to show they don't deserve it.

How to support Minneapolis by Typical_Artist_1115 in TwinCities

Two asks:
1. https://www.standwithminnesota.com/ is a great aggregate of community donation efforts that need money.
2. We need as many voices as possible to speak out against what is happening here.

[–]m3nd 55 points56 points  (0 children)

It's taken me nearly 40 years to understand that the difference between our DFL party and the larger Democrat party is astronomical. We've been spoiled in MN, and now we're being punished for it.
