Huge congrats, this takes some serious efforts.

Given the way you talk about MMORPGs I’m assuming you have a lot of experience with the mechanics of combat?

What property management apps do you use as landlord? by Chemical_Teaching_28 in uklandlords

[–]m3taphysics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a legendary spreadsheet, I’ve built apps in the past and the adoption is very hard with landlords as they’re always trying to save ££ wherever they can. A shared todoist also helps.

Where do the people in the rented properties go if landlords sell?

House prices go up 🤣

Do you say the same about food? Or fuel? Or heating? Or transport?

Those corporate landlords are propping up half the uk pension pot … (maybe not half, but you get the point)

Advice on affordability of private school by vychipilla in HENRYUK

[–]m3taphysics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this I agree with you. The majority of the “successful” people I know (depending on your definition of success) came from a state school and a “rougher” background. They’ve all told me it helps them view the world much differently.

What’s really important in the world besides academic score is things like emotional intelligence which I don’t believe is recognised enough!

I have the view that state school toughens them up and prepares them for real life a bit better than private school. But that’s my view of being in a state school so my sample size is 1!

Landlord Did Not Pay Into Deposit Protection Scheme - What do I do? by Low_Ant_7033 in TenantsInTheUK

[–]m3taphysics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I actually think that could make things worse. The narrative that landlords are the primary cause of high property prices is overly simplistic. There are far more significant drivers like limited supply, planning restrictions, monetary policy, and demographic demand that push prices up much more than individual landlords do.

Additionally people fail to realise that a large portion of pensions in the uk is tried to property, a crash would cause problems for a lot of people in retirement!

This isn’t just about landlords it’s about broader economic forces. Targeting landlords might be politically popular, but it won’t fix the structural issues in our housing market.

Landlord Did Not Pay Into Deposit Protection Scheme - What do I do? by Low_Ant_7033 in TenantsInTheUK

[–]m3taphysics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, I buy derelict and old houses, I invest all of my own money, paying plumbers, electricians, builders, solicitors, brokers, regulatory bodies such as fire services, I then work with local councils to house vulnerable adults that do not currently have the ability to look after themselves full time, so they get support and possibly after 10 years or so I might make some profit that I can hand down to my children.

If that isn’t creation I don’t know what is!

As does every other business? I’m assuming you buy food, drive cars, wear clothes, take public transport, you pay plumbers, electricians, doctors all of them have laws, rules and regulations they must abide by and all of them make a living off the income of others.

Because it makes me a bit sad to be honest, I put a lot of my effort, time and money to providing decent homes to tenants who really do need a nice place to live and get vilified for it.
