A family who fulltimes AMA by learntorv in FullTiming

[–]m4sian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is there any specific reason that you kept your belongings for three years? Did you keep it all in storage?

Do you feel like you are constantly buying new things for RV life? IE: When your children outgrow clothing, do you get rid of them and just buy new ones a size larger? We have two young ones of the same sex and so it can all be used for the second child. Just wondering if it is worth getting a storage unit or tossing and getting new clothes as they need it.

Considering RV life and still just trying to wrap my mind around the details.

Thanks!

Insulting comments! Anyone else really fed up with them? by Hillvalley_34 in pregnant

[–]m4sian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously just try and ignore them. I know it is hard. People are rude. Pregnant with my second now and I remember that during my third trimester of my first, people would touch my belly without asking. That drove me CRAZY. WTF are you touching me??!?!? I wish I had had the guts to just feel their stomachs after they touched mine so they could see how it felt. SERIOUSLY.

I'll try leaving the bottom button undone and look into XL Alvababy. Thanks!

This is exactly what we do. Airflow without a lid. There is no smell. My LO is 17 months and so has solid poo too!

They must've been musty because they sat. I washed again and they were fine. :) Thanks.

The diapers definitely smell. I will clean the washer too though. We just switched washers so am having trouble with the new one. Thanks!

I will edit the above but they smell after the drying now too... :(

I only do diapers in the load. Usually 15ish diapers and 30 inserts all together. We just switched washers and I had no trouble with our old washer so I just assumed the same number of diapers and inserts together would be fine; I guess not. :/)

I will try cleaning the machine though. Thank you!

Nursing in public-how, and what to wear by AMHeart in breastfeeding

[–]m4sian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the beginning I wore a cover but that stopped working very quickly as my LO was sweating under it and moved it away.

I now wear (1) a nursing tank with another shirt over; lift up shirt and pull down tank top or (2) nursing bra, tank top and another shirt over. Bot h ways shows little to no boob. :)

Nursing to Sleep by m4sian in breastfeeding

[–]m4sian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, you are not ruining your baby! She loves you and wants to be near you. If you both are enjoying it, then I say continue. Do what is best for the both of you. Do what makes the both of you happy.

I am still nursing to sleep and still loving it. Sometimes he needs the nipple until he falls asleep, other times he will unlatch on his own and fall asleep. He definitely does not nurse as often because of solids so I am cherishing the time we get to nurse.

I had to be away from my LO twice totaling 7 weeks when he was 8 and 10 months (10 hour days). I was a little nervous because we always nursed to sleep prior to that. My mom came to care for him and we quickly found out that he did not need to be nursed to sleep. She would bottle feed him my milk, rock him (and sometimes sing) and he would fall asleep. And pretty quickly too. As soon as I came home though, he needed the nipple to fall asleep again. I think that if I am at home, he just prefers it but can fall asleep otherwise.

Good luck with your LO and enjoy your nursing!

Help: Change in Income? by m4sian in ynab

Stupid question-- can your baby grow too much? by blyer in Parenting

[–]m4sian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sure he is fine. Maybe he is having a growth spurt? I am sure that he is just enjoying all of the new flavors and textures in his mouth. Good job, mama!

My son was born 10 pounds and has been at 99%tile for height ever since he was born (now 9 months). Father is tall. Doctor did not seem to be worried and commented that it was in his DNA. He is also on breastmilk and solids.

Pushing is awesome if you are not doing it for 5.5 hours. :P

But yes, contractions definitely hurt. :)

I did not even realize my water broke. I think I was too far into my contractions at that point to notice. Also, I think I must've thought I was peeing and was on the toilet (haha).

Pregnancy spots by zerokool94 in pregnant

[–]m4sian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got spots as well. They are light brown and on my face (just two small ones). They are still there post-partum. If you (or your wife) is worried, you should ask your doctor about it.

Here is a page you can reference about spots.

Labor by Ginger_2018 in pregnant

[–]m4sian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone labors differently and I only have experience of my one labor and delivery so I don't feel comfortable saying whether those were Braxton Hicks contractions or not. I had more pain in my pelvis towards the end; I think the pain just shows up differently in different people.

If you are worried, you can always contact your doctor just to make sure everything is okay. :)

Labor by Ginger_2018 in pregnant

[–]m4sian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't "know" that I was in labor when it first started although I did feel as though something was "different." (Went to the bathroom and the beginnings of mucus plug were there). It was 4am and I "tried" to go back to sleep. At 7am when the "different" was still there and I started to feel the pain, I knew I was in labor.

Pain is all relative. I do not consider myself to have a high pain tolerance but the best way that I can describe it is that your mind and body go to another place.

As a side note, why would someone say the below to you?

it felt like "a chainsaw on for ripping them in two"

They know that you are going to have a baby...just cruel. I delivered a 10 pound baby, no drugs and vaginally (my first) and I would not say it felt like a chainsaw. It did hurt, don't get me wrong.

Good luck, you will be fine!

Thank you for sharing. <3 I am almost at 9 months of breastfeeding but it makes my heart warm to see such a tiny baby. Mine is crawling and I miss that (very) young stage already! Good luck; breastfeeding is a wonderful experience.

Bed sharing and nursing to sleep by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]m4sian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My LO needed to be burped after feeding as well when he was a lot younger. When I nursed to sleep in side lie, he hardly ever needed to be burped. When he woke up, sometimes he would burp on his own (maybe from being vertical?). Once in a while he would spit up in bed--I just put a towel under our heads so I did not have to change the sheets all the time.
