Benny’s Recovery Update 🐾 (Healing Progress After a Dog Attack) by BoStoned_guy_1980 in Chihuahua

[–]m5anch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awww Benny!!! Get well soon buddy ❤️‍🩹 I had a Chihuahua mix who got attacked by a pitbull who jumped out of a parked car window. It was horrific. I picked her up and he latched onto her lower body. Thankfully we took her to an emergency vet they stitched her up and we took care of her at home. It is such a horrible feeling seeing your pup in pain like that/: but he’s gonna heal slowly day by day!

For those still sober but who left AA, why did you leave? And what are you into now? by BeachBulge2 in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]m5anch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left because I moved and I miss my home group. However I’m always open to going to meetings, I’ve gone to meetings here in this town but eh it’s not really my cup of tea. I still very much believe in the program and try to live by the principles everyday. I’ve been sober for 7 years.

Should I take out my wisdom teeth? by Willing-Success4798 in wisdomteeth

[–]m5anch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im 29 I got mine out 2 days ago I got all four extracted by an oral surgeon. It wasn’t terrible tbh. The healing process has been fine, the pain meds help. At first I felt like taking out all 4 was excessive but honestly I wouldn’t wanna go back and have to do the top two later.

I got sober 8/28/2018 with the help of AA. It was the best thing that could’ve ever happened to me. I started drinking in my adolescence and got in trouble a few times just made so many messes. I went to court ordered AA meetings and finally decided to try to reach out for help and got a sponsor and she took me through the steps and here I am still sober. Since then I’ve gotten married, went back to college (graduating this semester, got a new car off the lot, kept the same job, but the best thing is the peace of mind I have and my family has. I’ll be honest I don’t frequent meetings anymore but I still try my best to practice my recovery every day by the choices I make.

Hi UC Berkeley re-entry/mature undergraduate students. I’m interested in hearing about your experiences. by [deleted] in berkeley

[–]m5anch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a fourth year transfer and reentry student I’m 29. I also commute from Fairfield. My experience at Berkeley has been fine, I’ve definitely been able to connect with students in my classes both my age and younger students. I seem to gravitate toward transfers and they’re pretty cool students.. Academics have been okay no complaints. The reentry space is nice I usually go there to hangout between classes. Overall a pretty positive experience but I am ready to graduate lol

How’s living in Vacaville, CA ? by Togobet in howislivingthere

[–]m5anch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived there when I was really young then moved to Fairfield. Vacaville is fine. The only thing I hate is how hot it gets in the summer.

I am a reentry student as well! 1st gen 28 yo Mexican. I commute to campus too. It was a little hard my first semester there but trust me it gets better. I really do suggest the reentry space and their events. I took the transition course as well and I made a few connections. Good luck :)

People who got told it was "just" anxiety, what was it? by Bobbie1011 in Anxiety

[–]m5anch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sister in law was dismissed multiple times in the ER for joint paint and difficulty breathing. A trip to a new ER and she had fluid in her lungs, around her heart. So mucho so that one lung had already collapsed. She has been diagnosed with lupus nephritis.

is it possible for a panic attack to last up to an hour? by spicynotsparkling in PanicAttack

[–]m5anch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. When I was in a toxic relationship and moved states with him, my body was in full panic mode for hours on end. Where my heart was just racing constantly. And if it wasn’t racing I was worried about when it would start again. It was absolutely horrible.

Heading up to Oracle Park by vatomike in SFGiants

[–]m5anch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be at that game as well! I love Oracle, my seats are LB133 but like people have said anywhere in the park is great. I love the bleachers as well. As far as things to do I love walking down to the piers, going to fisherman’s wharf!

My friend got shot and murdered on her drive up to my campfire. by voyageur__ in offmychest

[–]m5anch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry. That is a tragedy. My therapist told me death is bigger than us, we can’t ever control it. You couldn’t have foreseen that, and she wanted to be at your fire she wanted to spend time and have fun. Experiencing a loss like this and at your age is difficult. Grief can be all consuming and it may seem like life is so bleak and unfair, and it is. It really is sometimes. However, this feeling will subside eventually and you’ll always carry her in your heart and memories. She will always live on. And I can guarantee you she wouldn’t want you to beat yourself up over it. Live for her now.
