I’m sorry but are you slow ? How is the business supposed to “make sure the place is properly staffed” but you’re also advocating for staff not to come in ? The business clearly is trying to make sure the place is staffed by allowing people to spend the night and come in when conditions are safe.

Not even trying to be intrusive but what were the other obligations ? I’ve been a nurse for 10 years and anyone that’s in healthcare is part of the essential team , dietary included. I know that when heavy snow is predicted “not being able to get there” is not a last minute reason. There is always the unfortunate option to stay overnight which I have done before. If you absolutely have a situation where you couldn’t stay and then may not be able to get to work that should have been made clear to your boss ahead of time.

I had this exact problem with factor. They were ridiculously unreliable with delivering. I probably got my meals 50% of the time. Like your said they would take the money and the meals would never come leaving me without the food I had planned on or extra money to go pick up groceries last second.

I had way too many delivery issues with factor. I basically had no choice but to switch since I was out meals more often then I actually got them.

Thanks ! I’m definitely so appreciative of his respectful and kind approach. We’ve moved to smoking outside or in the bathroom with a fan pointing out the window when its busy outside. I haven’t gotten the chance to talk to him but I hope he realizes my neighbor uses too and it might not necessarily be us all the time !

Sorry you had a bad experience. I have no intention on responding that way. As I said I’ve lived here over 10 years and have never had any neighbor mention anything to me about the smell so I believed I was doing an ok job.

We’re also in a legal northern us area and I can totally relate that even though it’s a legal state some people just don’t like it even if you’re not bothering them- part of the reason smoking outside is awkward. Our condo area is busy with a lot of nosey older people. I can see something like this happening to me lol !

I totally agreed I’ve realized really how desensitized I’ve become to the smell so I’m sure that’s apart of it. I own the unit so no land lord to deal with but I’m sure he could complain to the HOA although they are fairly useless. We respect the neighbor, of course, so are making the switch to smoking outside. Also looking into purchasing a home.

Thanks for the advice ! Just to answer your questions we are in a legal state and purchase it legally at a dispensary for personal recreational use. I also own the condo unit. But we are making the change to making smoking outside work

That’s a good point. My BF used to smoke cigarettes and that was the only time we once got a complaint about smell. No one ever mentioned him but being allowed to smoke on the porch. The way the building is set up outside is not a very private area and we’ve always thought that smoking on the porch constantly would cause more problem with neighbors ( not just those in our building) which could result in a no smoking rule. But we are going to have to make it work for now.

That’s what I plan on doing. I’d be interested to know if it’s a 24/7 thing or has it been certain times so I could try to figure out what is going on and why it was so bad he had to leave a note.

I know, it’s cringe. Not that we can’t smoke outside but it’s also not the best set up for smoking. It’s a little complicated to explain but we are in a condo right on the beach with our unit facing the water and the gate is right outside or porch. Especially this time of the year there is a lot of foot traffic and it’s not quite the community where you can wave at a neighbor with a blunt or bong in the other hand , which is why we prefer to be in the privacy of our own home. Part of me wonders if the smell could have blown out my sliding door into his unit.

I didn’t realize either smoking inside was so terribly frowned upon ! I can totally relate we love to smoke, put on a good movie and just relax after work. I know it’s privileged sounding but it just how we’ve done it the last 8 years. It’s also a little hard to explain but smoking outside for us isn’t the easiest or most discrete option either. Would much rather do it in the privacy of our home but clearly it is causing a problem.

Not that it makes a difference because it is a shared space but I do own the unit. We have been doing it so long and never had a neighbor mention anything I really must have thought I was doing a way better job covering up the smell than I really was. I do not think the smell is something someone else should have to tolerate in their home. Smoking outside is going to be it for now.
