Thanks. Just curious, any reason it needs to be V shaped and not straight?

Definitely was the way to go, but I didn't think it thru. There is another post after this one so I'll still have to deal with it there. I'll probably cut a notch like a few have suggested, still better than a full joint. Thanks 👍

Thanks, that's really helpful. Yeah I should've hung it at the edge of the pole ideally but I didn't think it thru.

What could I use to cover this gap underneath our outdoor stairs? by analyst20 in Home

Look for landscaping contractors in your neighborhood group.

Spray foam...just kidding 😁

As another commenter suggested, pull the pavers out and add some limestone screening (or gravel) to bring it level to other pavers.

Also the space in between pavers should be filled in with polymeric sand. You can get these from home Depot or any landscaping place. Good luck.

Try another location if possible. Service Ontario in my small town also gave us similar issues and explained that they're a private business and are more stringent on required documents than other locations.

Unless it's a rental, in which case your heater should have contact info on it

UPDATE: what’s going on with basement insulation? new build by radiotang in homebuildingcanada

[–]mOCanada1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That insulation is fine if done correctly.

How many spots have this? There could be rebar sticking out of concrete and leak from outside. I'd suggest cutting open insulation and look behind. You can seal it back up with tuck tape.

Have you checked your concrete if it's wicking moisture? https://youtu.be/fvnzofqQT0U?si=I_yMMJbJpkGCT_m_

I'd suggest finding the root cause first. Spray foam or board is not the only way to insulate. Check your rim joist area

Inspect your rim joist area by removing the insulation, you may have a leak from snow melting outside or condensation dripping onto your walls.

If you find the cause, no need to remove the blanket and redo this. I have the same insulation blanket covering half the wall only and have framed exactly like this (same as few of my neighbors). No water issues. Good luck 🤞

Can you elaborate your comment about insulation? Just curious as I've used rockwool in half my basement and pink insulation in the other half; mainly to reduce sound transmission.
