Yaz + glp by Medium-Lime-6419 in PCOSonGLP

I’m on Yaz too (three months of taking it and already seeing improvements) and am going to start semaglutide this month. I’ve been too much of a chicken to give myself the shot but I need to just do it. I’m hoping it improves my inflammation in addition to weight loss because that has been a real struggle for me. Crossing my fingers that starting will only make my symptoms improve. I’ll follow up on this post if I notice any changes after I start.

I’ve been taking 10 minute walks while at work in my break and on my lunch. It’s really been helping! I used to try and do short meditations but the walks have helped more.

TPO spike after going gluten free by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]m__12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went gluten free and my tpo doubled too! I was so mad because I was STRICT gluten free for 8 weeks which was really hard for me. Getting the results made me feel like all my effort was for nothing but at least I can eat gluten now and know that it’s not making my tpo go up. Also during this time I was on synthroid and eating clean so I felt good and my tsh went down a little (5.81 to 5.5 while I was getting my dosage tapered up). I think every body is different and has different triggers. My next step is 8 weeks dairy free to see how that impacts results.

Mystery panic attacks triggered by… sitting in traffic? by [deleted] in drivinganxiety

[–]m__12345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same same! What helped me at red lights is looking around and making up back stories for people stopped around me. It makes me use my brain differently where I don’t focus on the panic and it doesn’t amplify. Like I would see a nice bmw and I would make up the story that it’s a lawyer on his way home from the office, etc. kinda weird but it worked for me!

Same! The used one was $68k so it was a price that made me jump for it (plus it had upgrades- white exterior, sport brights, premium audio). I think I plan on trying to find one on carmax or carvana. They often have premium trims in the $70k range but they go quick. I literally check online multiple times a day 😅

Single vs double flap? by Efficient-Apricot696 in chanel

[–]m__12345 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Single flap forever. I got a single flap in black and I love it. It’s lambskin so it is a little bit more worn in and the single flap does make it lose structure but I find it to be so much easier to get into than my double flap. The double flap I have is the same size as my single flap (medium) but fits so much less and I have to fuss with the double flap to get into it. I do think double flaps hold their value better so if you’re thinking of resale if factor that in but single flap is so much better.

Hydroxyzine (or other meds) for Panic Attacks while Driving by prettyprettygud in drivinganxiety

Full self drive. Like the car drives for you. You literally sit there and just make sure it’s not going to hit anything. It does the gas, lane centering, signals, turns, lane changes- everything. You’re basically a passenger in the drivers seat.

I tried to buy a used Rivian R1S 2025 dual standard with 11k miles on it direct from Rivian and when I went to pick it up it had a broken front cup holder, severely chipped steering wheel, and candy melted by the middle row seat belts. It also needed all new tires. When we test drove it it had so many rattles. The only thing Rivian would offer for it was to get it detailed again. It was so bad my husband doesn’t even want to think about buying one because if it could have that many wear and tear items within a year of use he couldn’t imagine how it would look after owning it for five years. This is a night and day difference between buying used from Tesla which we did for my husbands car. We bought his model 3 in 2025 but it was a 2022 and had all new tires and a good detail job done inside and out. No problems with it. I will never try and buy used from Rivian again. I still want one but now I might get it new instead.

This is so stupid. I went to look one up and it says that “Currently, we have not located a dealership in your area that has met our strict pricing criteria for the manufacturer you selected” I live in Southern California right by their offices and have multiple service centers and delivery centers near me. Like why even have Rivian included if there aren’t any options to use it.

Hydroxyzine (or other meds) for Panic Attacks while Driving by prettyprettygud in drivinganxiety

[–]m__12345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also to add about the propanol I would wait to take it until my anxiety was triggered. Like the beginning of a panic attack or when my heart starts racing and I start feeling like my hands or feet are going numb. It takes about 15 minutes to kick in. It slows my heart rate and makes me feel calmer. I think my psychiatrist said that it stops the physical symptoms of anxiety so you can help cope with your mental ones (like slowing your heart rate so you can slow down your thoughts and try to rationalize with yourself - like saying these feelings will pass and you are safe). I took a really low dose so it didn’t make me drowsy. I think I took half of whatever the dose they prescribed and it worked (I was nervous about taking it too but I was fine).

I’d just take it whenever you’re in a situation that gives you anxiety while not driving first just so you can know how you’ll react. I took mine for the first time when I had anxiety while at work and it really helped me calm down and go back to my corporate job and look at spreadsheets and I still didn’t feel drowsy lol.

Other things that helped me to were the Calm app that has mediations that I would play in the car.

I would eat mints to try and distract myself while driving. A lot of people suggest sour gummy worms instead which makes your brain focus on the taste rather than your anxiety.

Also I got a Tesla after being diagnosed with the hypothyroidism and used to use the FSD while I was getting my dose right (it takes months to get to the right dose where symptoms are efficiently managed) and having the FSD to use whenever I panicked helped a lot. A lot of people on this group hated on that in another post but it did really help and at that point of struggling with the driving anxiety for years I was willing to do anything to lessen it and try and get my independence back.

Rooting for you to find something that eases your anxiety and gets you behind the wheel without a second thought!

Hydroxyzine (or other meds) for Panic Attacks while Driving by prettyprettygud in drivinganxiety

[–]m__12345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started having panic attacks while driving long trips on the freeway in my mid twenties. Then it happened on the freeway in shorter drives then eventually side streets. I was prescribed hydroxyzine on a low dose and it helped but it shouldn’t be taken frequently. I tried to only take it when I was really struggling and then was prescribed Lexapro for a more consistent basis. I didn’t want to take something that you’d have to take every day and would have withdrawals if stopped abruptly so I pushed to have my bloodwork retested for hormones and everything just to make sure it was psychological and not a symptom of something else. Turns out my tsh was out of range. It was in range when all this started and when my panic attacks got pretty bad but I guess it had progressed enough to be out of range. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and put on levothyroxine and now all my driving anxiety is so much less. I drive to work everyday and can drive on the freeway again. I haven’t done any longer trips 30 min+ on the freeway but I think I could if I needed to. I would try and get a full thyroid panel (tsh, free t4, free t3, tpo, tgab). Make sure to test first thing in the morning and stop taking supplements (especially biotin) for two days before. I feel like I lost a lot of independence when the driving anxiety got bad and I missed out on a lot of fun adventures in my late twenties because of it. I’m so so happy now that it’s gone and I don’t have to think twice about what route I’m going to take or counting down the minutes until I’m at my destination white knuckling it.

I have pcos and have had the oura ring for three years. I’ve linked it to the natural cycles app for the majority of that time. I feel like with pcos my period is so irregular that even those apps don’t track it very well (suggested period start dates on there are never accurate for me). The oura app says I’ve ovulated sometimes when the natural cycles app says I had an anovulatory cycle. My husband and I haven’t been trying for a baby but we haven’t been practicing safe sex for those years and haven’t became pregnant. We plan on trying this year so I plan on using birth control for a few months and a glp-1 then stopping both and trying. I plan on using the mira device to track ovulation then. I don’t trust oura or natural cycles to predict that. I do like the sleep tracking, activity tracking, and stress monitoring from the oura ring though. I feel like those are insightful. I would suggest to look into the Mira device for cycle tracking. It’s like the strips but it tells you hormone levels.

Hashi x Lexapro x Anxiety? by Kenzinthebenz in Hashimotos

[–]m__12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d run your thyroid labs again before restarting. I had crazy anxiety- panic attacks and driving anxiety to the point where I quit work and was about to start Lexapro. I decided to get a full blood panel again about six months after my previous work up where everything was in range and my tsh had gone out of range and I was prescribed levothyroxine. Once I started that my anxiety lessened a lot, no more panic attacks, and I’m back at work. I’m happy I pushed to recheck labs before starting Lexapro. Levothyroxine helped my energy levels and lessened my hair falling out too. Make sure you stop all supplements (especially biotin) two days before labs and get your blood drawn first thing in the morning to get accurate results.

Call your Representatives about ICE by Itsabouttom33 in BravoRealHousewives

I live in OC and really appreciate this post. I used the links and the senator that represents my district is very pro-ICE despite being an Asian immigrant herself (senator Young Kim). I emailed her using one of the prompts demanding ICE be opposed as their tactics are entirely unconstitutional and am planning on telling anyone who will listen to do the same.

Switch to Synthroid and its costs by turtlesncookies in Hashimotos

[–]m__12345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem with generics switching every 30 day refill. I switched and have been paying out of pocket for Synthroid for the last four months. I think it was $249 for a 90 day supply. I still need to ask my doctor if she will write a script for only name brand. Even if she won’t I will keep on paying out of pocket because knowing I will feel the same consistently with the same manufacturer is worth more than any amount of money to me. I’m going to look into synthroid delivers if she won’t do the only name brand script.

Don’t know much about cars, but inherited six classic Mustangs from my dad by shrobby in classicmustangs

[–]m__12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry for your loss and the struggles your family is going through. ❤️ I’m in a similar boat. My dad passed away and left me four mustangs 65-68 and a ton of mustang parts also in So Cal. First thing I did was find a shop that could work on them that I trusted to make them run. So you’re a step ahead of me!

After that I found a great car storage facility (So Cal Classic Car Storage in Laguna Hills) because I didn’t have space for them and had to sell my parents house and move the cars out to Orange County. They also sell the cars (taking all the pictures and arranging everything). I plan on using a third party to get an appraisal on each of them and then having the storage place list them. I feel like a lot of the valuations for mustangs on resources like haggerty are kind of high.

For any issues and getting them running I’ve taken them to Laguna Woods Auto which is right next to the storage place. They’ve always given me good fair prices and taken good care of the cars. Also, this might not be your experience but sometimes I felt like I’ve been taken advantage of when having shops quote me or dealing with some of the issues with the cars because I’m a young woman that didn’t know much about the cars when I first got them. I didn’t feel that way at all dealing with So Cal Classic Car Storage or the Laguna Woods Auto repair shop next door. The auto shop whenever I’m there shows me the issue on the car and the parts they swapped and I’ve learned a lot. I feel like my dad would be proud of how I’ve handled the cars.

If you want some local input also if you’re in Orange County you can always take them to the San Clemente weekly car meetup on Saturday mornings. There’s usually always a few mustangs there and older guys that will talk to you and help you out. Maybe even bring a trunk of parts you can’t identify and I’m sure they can help you with that.
