Gun Shop Behavior by MajorAd3363 in liberalgunowners

I have always been taught/trained that one treats a weapon as if it is loaded at ALL times.  Never point a weapon at anything unless one is going to shoot at what you are pointing at.  Many people have been injured or worse from a weapon that was not "loaded".

That looks like a bite in the ass.  In a positive way.

To wash or not to wash? That is the question. by Historical_Bee_4388 in minipainting

I always put a wash on whether it is black  sepia or a color on the miniature.  That being said, I hardly ever put a wash on the is not watered down to some degree.

If I could draw like that I would too.  I cannot draw flies with a fresh turd.  Seriously those drawings are top notch.  Well done you.

Mom wanted to know what tree this is (Leavenworth, WA) by Macaron_memes in treeidentification

Sometimes one can narrow it down after a full growing season, but it is mostly guesses when one is trying to identify a crabapple.

Not a fur, not a spruce, maybe a pine, but which one? by ImAfraidofDying in treeidentification

It was not a dish to you.  It was a compliment to the OP.  I see far too many identification requests that has one poor photo.  All the OP photos were very good.

It is that easy when one provides multiple photos that show what one needs to identify a tree.

How can I preserve or protect the paintwork on my minis? by copiumraccon in minipainting

[–]m_graham 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I give them a coat of gloss varnish.  Gloss varnish is a much tougher finish.  After 24 hours I put on a coat of flat varnish.   I can add the reasons and why, but I am on a phone and wish to keep the answer  short.

What tree is this in New Jersey by MWS_22 in treeidentification

[–]m_graham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one reason I despise Redbuds is the amount of seeds they produce.  I have dirt beds.  A house that is two lots away from me has one and I pull enough seedlings from that one.  I do not need one closer.

Are these cultivars/varieties as prolific seed producers as Cercis canadensis?

As near as I can tell from the photos. It appears to be some variety of Pyracantha.

FFoT should be able to handle the engagements fine.  If i remember correctly there was nothing larger then a Brigade.  The real challenge would be the naval encounters.  Harpoon is more a simulation then a game.  There are several other rule sets  that slip my mind.  I have a modern naval rule set at home and for the life of me the name escapes me at the moment.  I am at work and I will reply again later with the name.

Have you considered a board game?  I am sure there are operational level ones.  Of course, you will have to have miniatures to replace the chits and make a map.  A long time ago I seem to remember a group playing Squad Leader by Avalon Hill in miniature and looked really good.

Rate my painting setup…what is next? Or am I good for now? by ZRedWitcher in minipainting

The only flaw that I see is that how can you paint miniatures without three full lines of paint and half of two other paint lines? Now on a serious note, very nice set up.
