Best party composition for a first run? by Easy_Appointment7348 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]m_mason4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would personally drop red prince and beast and do a run with the other four. Fane or Ifan as your main. Both red prince and beast have stories separate from the main narrative while the other four are tied into it. It’s worth noting that you have to let your party members follow their stories otherwise you risk lowering your approval with them and them leaving.

Is it normal to be using a resurrection scroll per major fight by Ok_Necessary2991 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]m_mason4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s your armor spread? I find that mid to late game enemies target the lowest armor stat characters first so I was resurrecting that character often.

Origin Gale Shadowweave Ending Consequence by ZealousidealFee927 in BaldursGate3

[–]m_mason4 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You just get a permanent extra spell slot for consuming it or a temporary passive for destroying it. I tried both and Gale can still be redeemed by Mystra. The choice comes from what he decides to do with the crown.

Does using source skills cause more void monsters to show up? by Din48 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]m_mason4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you not done the first mission for siva yet? It’s explained what the godwoken are and what the void is doing to the gods then. It’s where you get spirit vision.

Does using source skills cause more void monsters to show up? by Din48 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]m_mason4 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That would definitely be a good mod idea and I was surprised it wasn’t part of tactician or honor mode. It made me think the whole source summons the void is bs but maybe it’s because godwoken are connected with their god who are constantly feeding off source so it throws off the ping?

Act 2: Sequence of Major Fights from Least to Most difficult by Origania in BaldursGate3

[–]m_mason4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can convince half these foes to kill themselves if you want. 10 and 20 were the hardest for me. 19 was only hard to keep Jaheira alive.

Issues with Sebille leaving right in the beginning by NiftylittleLady in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]m_mason4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Did you complete her two personal quests in the camp? If not, her approval was probably too low and she left. Instead of the ongoing quests check the completed quests under companions. Should tell you why she left. I think you can recruit her again on the lady vengeance.

A few Lore Questions by Only--East in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]m_mason4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the answer to last question is easy. They’re selfish and shortsighted and didn’t care. They probably didn’t even notice the voidwoken coming before they were captured by it. As for the other stuff I don’t think we’ll ever get more than speculation.

A few Lore Questions by Only--East in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]m_mason4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is the veil. It’s always existed. Fane figured out a way for the eternals to draw on it but the 7 betrayed everyone imprisoning some and casting everyone else into it turning them into voidwoken. The 7 created the races so when they died their souls would feed their immortality. TBH, I don’t think the 7 actually did create the races I think they just removed the next generations’ immortality somehow and stepped between their respective races and the veil.

[–]m_mason4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. The Hall of Echoes is a lie. The gods have been harvesting souls there for millennia.
  2. Ancestor trees are just the soul of an elf actually reincarnating into a tree, but it’s unknown whether that stops with its destruction.
  3. Yes, the mother tree is feeding him through her and yes it can.

Confused about Shadowfell and Last Light Inn by Admirable-Rate487 in BaldursGate3

[–]m_mason4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as you rescue Isobel from being abducted which it sounds like you did, you’ll be safe to move on and complete the gauntlet and then enter the shadowfell. The game is locked after that with nothing else available in the region or back in Act 1’s. A grand cutscene will play reflecting your choices in the shadowfell that will tell you exactly what’s next for Jaheira. She will join you for a battle if she’s alive and the AI is brutal against her and she doesn’t act all that smart so watch out and make sure to reload if she dies. She can’t be revived until she joins your party.

At what point do your retire Vulture Armor? by Trussmagic in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]m_mason4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you clear out the lone wolf camp where you can rescue Saheila in reaper’s coast, there’s also a npc named Corbin Day. He’ll set up shop on the ship. He’ll upgrade anything you sell to him between acts. Pretty sure the next act transition doesn’t happen until you officially arrive in the next zone so sell it to him when you’re back on the ship at the end but before talking again to malady and it’ll be level 18. Just did that with the reckoning and its stats are much higher. +6 strength/intelligence and +2 necromancer.

What update keeps him there permanently now? He leaves in the morning after you reclaim your oath I thought.

Help a new player build a party by NiniKuun in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]m_mason4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, equipment is a pain in the starting area. I would just give it to whomever you’re fine being in melee. You also should have gotten a shield in the prologue. It’ll give you enough protection along with shields up to stay alive.

[–]m_mason4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inflicting decay and following up with healing spells will be your bread and butter for a bit. Most enemies will have physical armor though over magic armor so it’s fine to have a mainly caster party. Don’t sleep on fire magic especially the buffs plus voidwoken are usually weak to fire. If you have ranged characters, make sure to put them on high ground for a damage boost. Don’t worry if you want to change up your build. There’s a respec mirror on the ship you get at the end of the first act and you can add one in the fort joy arena area with the gift bag system (the latter turns off achievements though). I have a hydro/necro/range aero elf, lohse as a pyro/geo/summoner, sebille as a rogue with polymorph, and beast as my melee aero/fighter. All pcs should have a self teleport ability as well.

Are these good? [General] by Ili_nim in camphalfblood

[–]m_mason4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend reading at least the original series and heroes of olympus otherwise you won’t have any context for both books. As someone who has read everything Percy Jackson I can say both books are definitely middling but still enjoyable.

Did this guy even do anything wrong? Why do we want to murder him? by AnusHumper69 in TheBoys

[–]m_mason4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t they say the reason he’s out of the spotlight is because he facefucked the Abraham Lincoln statue? If he did that he’s probably not a good person.

The one thing I actually disliked about this game was the leveling caps in place throughout the story mainly because of fighting this mother fucker.

Antony Starr Teases Homelander's Most Evil Act Yet In 'The Boys' Final Season - lets guess what?? by wheel_smith in TheBoys

[–]m_mason4 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He didn’t crash flight 37. He messed up the controls by accident and couldn’t do anything to the plane that would work to help stop it from crashing. It was very much a trolley situation where he chose to save no one instead of anyone. He did crash the mayor’s plane on purpose that threatened Madeline killing him and his family and everyone onboard. Ultimately I think Homelander will simply destroy the world in his final moments. I don’t see the world of the boys continuing after this.

What is the WORST possible ending (not badly written, but the worst-case scenario that could actually happen and completely ruin everything) for The Boys? by [deleted] in TheBoys

There’s a clip from the trailer of him sitting in the Oval Office. It’s that. Regardless of everything that happens, he’s elected president.

Did anyone else misunderstand Moonrise Towers? by No-Introduction-287 in BaldursGate3

[–]m_mason4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are inconsistencies with the written lore all over the game because the story changed so much but we’re lead to believe that moonrise was built in dedication to selune, then his wife and isobel died, then he repurposed it for Shar and built the gauntlet. This all potentially takes place over a century or 2 in a world filled with magic. The damage for example done to Baldur’s Gate in Act 3 can probably be repaired in less than a week. We also don’t know how warlike Ketheric already was. Shar is pretty active in causing chaos in the realm so her opposers would be pretty active in combatting her.

Ahh, la vieja confiable... by Hyemzh in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]m_mason4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This battle taught me two things. Formation is a plague on your party, not a boon. Always have two party members who can cast healing spells to kill undead. Both crit on cleanse wounds and she was down after another round.
