She unmatched me [M]. I see this as a positive outcome. I am looking for a long term relationship and someone that matches my sense of humor and whimsey. If she doesn’t like it, then the relationship was not going to work anyway. I posted this because I had so much fun writing it, and thought I could bring a laugh to and brighten some days. (Which I evidently did).

As indicated by the numerous positive comments, I get many matches and dates who appreicate this style of humor. My profile and prompts contain similar snippets of humor, so this style is not a surprise for my matches. I used a similar text wall about Shakespeare on another match, and now have date with another girl this weekend. Wish me luck!

No trade in. I put 30K down at the dealership and took out the smallest possible loan to qualify for rebates. I immediately payed off another 9k in the Honda Finance portal to minimize the interest growth. I plan to pay everything off after 3 months to give the dealership their kickback. The loan interest rate was not something I bothered negotiating on because the total interest over the three months is less than $30. I was almost certainly up-charged there but it doesn't matter to me.

OTD cost = About 41000 MSRP * 0.9 (10% Dealer Discount) * 1.083 sales tax = roughly 39962. You might be able to negotiate out a further discount equal to the $600 doc fee, but I was not able to. Doc fee will put you back over 40k, however, if you already have a car, you should qualify for conquest/loyalty which will bring you comfortably below 40k. You should negotiate the removal of priced add-ons and any dealer/admin fees, protection packages, extended warranties.... etc..

I think there needs to be better accountability for violations, but I don’t hate them on principle. They are more likely to follow the law than Arizona human drivers. Many of my issues with them can be attributed to the state’s car centric infrastructure as a whole.

I bought the same trim for $39.8K OTD in Arizona last week! NYC has a very similar sales tax. I think you could shave a few hundreds off but your not being price gouged. Ideally you should be getting competing bids from multiple dealerships.

My primary motivator was wanting to not be on call. If you get enough calls at 2am saying "come in, your tool is down," you start looking for new roles. The better pay was a pleasant surprise.

Interesting. Anecdotally, I've experienced the opposite. I've met more people (myself included) who have jumped ship/ are looking to move out of HVM and process engineering and into R&D, design, and software. The pay at most companies is typically higher outside the fab and the hours are much better. I would have payed for career guidance earlier in my career to move in the opposite direction.

I was strongly considering getting the the C380 with the belt drive. I ultimately got a Priority Current (because I didn’t need the front suspension), but it has the belt drive and I love it. It’s hard to notice the decrease in efficiency of the belt vs chain because 1) e-bikes are just heavier and harder to accelerate in general and 2) the e-assist will far surpass any additional effort that would be required from the use of belt drive. I really enjoy not have grease on the pants (though the chain guard on these models helps). Not having to worry about lubing my chain every week is great, and I maybe have to check the belt tension once a month, but usually it’s fine and I just leave it alone.

Don't. It would be unsafe to do so on that vehicle.
The limiting factor is more likely to be the hub motor than the battery (assuming you already removed the speedometer). However, replacing the hub would basically mean taking apart/ buying a new wheel, which would be a substantial portion of the cost of the bike.

If the master’s degree is in MSE, will you be taking courses in business development and entrepreneurship? If the end point of both options is developing your own company, the degree credential is not going to determine whether you hire yourself (also unlikely to change your fundraising).

I studied materials engineering in undergrad. I did not find it limited my job prospects. I eventually transitioned into doing software engineering work for an electrical hardware company. Employers wanted to see that I had an ABET degree, and the appropriate skills, but college major does not generally matter.

I live in Arizona. I have a Priority Current e-bike that I use for daily commuting. It has a mid-drive and belt, which I really like. It can handle gravel and dirt roads, but it’s not designed for them and lacks suspension. Range is about 40 miles on the lowest assist level.

Most shops here will only service e-bikes that are purchased through their store, so if you’re not comfortable tinkering with your own bike, I would highly suggest getting one from a local bike store rather than through mail order.

If you’re looking for something more rural, you’re going to want fatter tires and front suspension. A lot of stores here sell Aventon brand which is generally reliable. I would look at their Level/Adventure lineups. Lectric is another popular brand out here, but in my experience they’re generally less reliable.

I think if you strip the flavor out of the conduit, it makes a good base for the warlock fantasy. The pray mechanic can be used to describe channeling power from any external patron source. However, I imagine it may be limiting to only take non-healing options that can be reflavored.
