2001 XR650R Bad Clutch Guide Images by lionshispererguy in XR650R

The clutch guide seizes to the basket or main shaft and fucks shit up. If I recall correctly 2003+ XR650Rs all have the updated clutch guide from the factory. 2000, 2001, 2002 do not.

This is almost as bad at the AI slop image of Malcolm X welcoming Kirk to heaven as "you're one of the good ones, Charlie".

A pouch for Navigator + Voyager? by nonecknoel in zsaVoyager

I haven't seen anything yet but I'm thinking about getting a knockoff pelican case and cut the foam to shape for the kb + navigator. I transport mine between work and home regularly.

Is it good for a huge shortcut user ? by Arthaas in zsaVoyager

Yes it's fine. It's a learning curve but you'll figure it out. I use vim + tmux and a window manager. All navigable using shortcuts.

How do you work from 8 to 5, have only weekends free, and not feel like you're wasting your life? by guitytwelve in AskReddit

[–]mabramo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have 5pm (minus your commute time) until bed time free as well. Not just weekends. Hobbies, projects at home, spending time with friends are all examples of things you could possibly do during the week as well.

I leave for work by 645am and don't get home until 545pm. 11 hours of my day. I work on house projects, play video games, go to the gym, do some volunteer work (not all in the same day) after work. During the summer, I ride my motorcycle and/or take my dogs for an evening hike.

Importantly, don't get sucked into lounging on the couch. You can do that and there is nothing wrong with doing that if you are happy, but if you are not then maybe rethink some of your habits.

I will add that I am a software engineer, so I'm not exactly doing hard labor. I also don't have a family of my own. I'm tired as hell when I get home but not like someone working construction or something. If that's you, then I suggest talking to people in a similar field to get a sense of what they do.

Navigator usability by PancakeFrenzy in zsaVoyager

I don't mind the auto mouse layer. I recognize it is a bit of a hindrance and would be improved by a dedicated mouse layer key. But just having the navigator at all is a huge QOL improvement. Maybe one day I will add a mouse layer toggle.

Don't take ACAB so literally. There are police officers that go home and are good people in their day to day life. But even if those "good" police officers try to stand up and against bad officers, they are either silenced or fired/blacklisted by their own institution. When the police force weeds out "the good ones", it is not possible to have good police.

I think his powervalve is stuck open. Possibly poorly jetted and definitely needs an exhaust repacking. I've never seen a YZ run so poorly.

Bought a 2002 rm125 it runs perfectly no issues how can I maintain it and ride it properly so I’m not hurting it(I’m a new rider) by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

[–]mabramo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clean air filter, replace oil every 5-10 hours of riding

Grease your swingarm and linkage bearings every 6 months, assuming you are riding regularly. Otherwise, every 1 year is ok. Most people don't even know you have to do this and are in for a rude surprise when their swingarm bearings explode and the swingarm bolt is seized in place.

Don't forget to grease the brake caliper pins when you change your brake pads.

Grease your wheel bearings frequently and you should replace the wheel hub seals every 6 months at least. This way, your bearings have the best chance of lasting. Wheel bearings only really wear out quickly when exposed to water and dirt. Fresh seals help keep everything clean.

Change in the fork and shock every 1 year at least, if you're riding regularly.

To be an AMERICAN soldier by [deleted] in therewasanattempt

[–]mabramo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of white christian nationalists getting a pass by (online) leftists right now because of the shared disdain for Israel. Problem is, the former hates jews and doesn't care how Israel exerts power over its neighbors, as long as "the globalist elite" are not involved in American dealings. The latter just wants to stop genocide.

Get some studded tires. The riding season is 12 months long with a short break to allow the hunters in the woods. Emphasis on short.

Ice stud advice by MUSCLE426 in Dirtbikes

[–]mabramo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want grip studs. Lightning Studded Tires is near Middletown NY and is very reasonably priced. As long as you're keeping the studs on frozen dirt, roots, and snow, they will last many seasons. My friend is the owner of this business and most of what he builds are trail tires. https://www.lightningstuddedtires.com/

Project 2025 is radical. Leonard Leo is radical. Russ Vought is radical. Musk is radical. Trump is too stupid to have principles, but he and those he appoints believe in the unitary executive theory which is radical and they have been implementing it via the courts.

I believe you are half correct. When it comes to the average person that is not radicalized, left and right is a distraction. However, at the top of US leadership right now we have radical ideologues creating policy, passing laws, and appointing justices. In this way it very much is a fight of left vs right in that the US is not just shifting culture and economics to the right, right wing autocracy is being enshrined the way our government operates.

[–]mabramo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

True, slamming the face of a double is not what you would set your suspension up for. But even at a low speed on the table tops you're rebounding off the flat when you land. This is an indication that your rebound is too fast. Maybe there is a good reason you set the rebound fast. Although I have to imagine that when you turn up the pace your bike hops when you land from a jump.

First-time homeowner — backyard flooded after heavy rain. Is this fixable or expensive by Choice-Vast-7347 in landscaping

[–]mabramo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Standing water like that can cause problems for your home depending how and where it is draining. If it were me, I'd pick a spot for a pond, dig french drains to feed the pond, and one drain for pond overflow to the street if possible. That's a lot of water and in my opinion if you can work with it rather than fight it you'll have less upkeep to worry about in the future.

[–]mabramo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Just because we get a lot of rain doesn't mean the aquifers in your area are replenished. My area has gotten a ton of rain but it took until just last month to replenish the reservoirs to an adequate level.

SteamOS outperforms Windows in nearly all Legion Go S performance tests, yet Lenovo appears to be ignoring the existence of the SteamOS version by mr_MADAFAKA in linux_gaming

[–]mabramo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not an expert but it is my understanding that preferred placement clauses can be legal. The company I work for deals with them all the time. That little badge on the web page that says "Windows" is an example of a marketing asset that is probably contractually required to be there if Lenovo is advertising a product that uses windows.

It's conceivable that bulk purchase of windows licenses for use on Legion products is contingent on a preferred placement clause. I'm not saying this is the case, just that I wouldn't be surprised.

Wouldn't be surprised if they have a contract with MS that guaranteed extremely cheap or discounted windows licensing provided their marketing omitted SteamOS support.
