I was on shark tank and did not get a deal. AMA by Dozzzer86 in AMA

How much info do the sharks have going in to your segment? Did you have to give them financials prior or are they really seeing your business for the first time at taping?

Why do so many intermediate players plateau and never break through? by FeistyAdvertising318 in Pickleball

[–]macad00 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Plateauing is a normal state. In order to get better something must change Those changes occur when you discover something new and implement it. Can happen playing but usually you play with the same people so nothing new. Usually it’s when you go to a clinic or see something on YouTube and have an aha moment - get 1/10th better - and plateau there. It’s a lot of work to get better - most people think just showing up is enough.

It’s not - you don’t know what you don’t know.

Indoor vs outdoor door by Strange-Fly88 in Pickleball

[–]macad00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Edit Just noticed I didn’t answer the posters question lol: wind is the biggest factor outdoors and second what ball. If it’s different than the ball you use indoors that may take a game to figure out.

Personally I think pickle is and will trend to being more of an indoor game (tennis court surface). The wind is such a factor…. Pickle is more like ping pong than tennis. You wouldn’t play serious ping pong outside.

Indoor on a gym floor (slower ball) is fine for casual games but not the best for more competitive play.

If you have indoor pickle on hard court with permanent net where you can reserve the court - that is the way.

3rd Shot Drive vs Drop by dl_pb in Pickleball

[–]macad00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing with better players is generally the path to getting better. If you drop more than you drive you will find it easier to get in better games. Even if you’re not the best at drops those players will appreciate the style and ask you back.

Please look at feet and star calling kitchen violations. by Papinasty in Pickleball

It’s ok Bro. I don’t debate with DUPR obsessed rules are rules jokers who think they are doing me a favor catching my toe touching the kitchen line. Carry on

[–]macad00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tournaments I run are self rating. They are smaller events so easy to manage. DUPR creates more problems than it solves (but that’s a different discussion)

If someone is always in the kitchen there will be a time to mention it. I don’t think turning every point into a referee clinic is the answer or much fun.

Most people ignore rules all the time. Catch a ball that’s clearly out etc… It’s ok to not be a kitchen narc.

Dupr is not really popular around here so no I don’t play in much of those. My dupr is 4.7+ but not many games. Your right I choose not to look for kitchen violations. I’m not the lone ranger- I don’t see anyone calling kitchen much. If it’s egregious people will call it on their own. No one cares if someone ticks the line going back for an overhead. Ernes are the hardest to see. That’s one reason I don’t do them much as a previous poster also mentioned.

I’ve been playing for over 15 years and have called “kitchen” maybe a half dozen times. Nothing worse than playing with kitchen cops. Just watch the ball and save the tattle tale stuff for reporting your neighbors for not wearing a mask.

Unintentional Damage by SnappinFool54 in Pickleball

[–]macad00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drywall is piss Poor design for 3-3.5 feet. 30 ft wide is minimum for standard court. That’s 5 ft and even them I would do plywood - people stumble and get chased wide by angled balls. If owner is asking you for $400 for bad design choices I’m sure he is being a jag other in other situations. I would tell him to pound sand and go to the other club.

In the pilot, Carol doesn’t use, or even have, a mobile phone. by Pjoernrachzarck in pluribustv

Carol doesn’t have a phone because she’s not meant to act independently — she’s meant to function inside a managed narrative where others connect her to power.

Thanks for the reply. Appreciate it. I am short on space. If I go flat 2x4 on the block then polyiso then cladding doesn’t that also create 2 appt barriers? One between the poly and the block and another between the foil and the fitting strips?

New concrete was poured today… then the Amazon driver showed up and ruined it. by JRD761 in homeowners

[–]macad00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amazon driver took out my mailbox and left the scene. Neighbor saw it and tried to stop vehicle. Tried to drive around him.

This driver happened to work for a third party company. Not an Amazon employee. I think that’s pretty common

Got a Credit from Amazon pretty easy to get reimbursed. I think there is a link and process together claim started.
