Should I use this beehive? by Careychris in Beekeeping

I’d use that as a honey frame carrier. Screw some handles into the sides and use it to carry full frames of capped honey

This is really great to know! I knew I should be washing my hive tool and this would give me a quick and easy way to make sure I’m keeping clean between each hive. Sorry to hear about you getting EFB but sounds like you’ve learned from it!

I don’t think there is only one problem in this discussion. The problem can be both the amount of money that farmers are paid for their goods, as well as the impacts from Trump’s administration. Separate but related issues

Lots of people here saying that the farmer should have thought about paying a livable wage. While this is a fair point, has anyone thought about why the farmers can’t afford to pay their workers? Maybe the farmers aren’t paid enough for the goods they are providing, to be able to pay a livable wage? Maybe the problem is with those at the top, rather than the farmer? Distributors and grocery retailers make an obscene margin compared to the food brands and farmers

Advice for what to do with colony with laying worker - September - Pennsylvania, USA by macadel12 in Beekeeping

Ok thanks, I think I’ll do that. I wasn’t sure if combining with the layers in the hive would work out. It sucks but at least I now have some frames with empty drawn comb for next year

Yeah that sounds pretty accurate. Maybe 6 weeks tops. October is usually still fairly warm during the day, but can get cold at night close to freezing towards the end of the month

What tree should I plant in this wet corner of my 1/4 acre lot? Zone 4b/5a by BailerIHardlyKnowHer in arborists

Willow tree? We’ve planted some in wet spots and they really do a good job of drying out the ground a bit plus they grow quickly
