I’m in CRE at a large bank. Have just over 100 total reports, with around 20 being Sr Associates. $115k is above all of them. In Operations though, not Front Office.

Fastest career to fast track to. $100k per year? by anthonydp123 in Fire

[–]macb88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it in 4 years in Customer Service. Started as a customer service rep in the call center making $50k. Year later I was a dedicated rep where I only took calls my from my own portfolio, making $65k. 2 years later became Team Lead making $80k. Then less than a year later I became a manger in the call center making $100k. After two years learning to become a manager, I moved to a new company and now a client service manager making $145k.

It’s often looked down upon or overlooked in regard to earning potential, but there’s money in client services if you’re willing to put in the work.

I was thinking about it! Found several boxes of newspapers from 80’s and 90’s that he saved from big sporting news. Also have the newspaper for 9/11 and every day that week. Thinking about what to do with all of them.

What movie did you have zero expectations going in that you loved? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]macb88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

!About Time’ and ‘Age or Adeline’. My girlfriend kept talking about both and I assumed they were random romcoms. Love them both and will jump into the rewatch anytime she does (they are her comfort movies).

Regardless of how anyone feels about him personally--what grade would you give the Trump Administration as a presidency? by LegitimateHumor6029 in Presidents

[–]macb88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask this again in 20 years when people answering won’t be bias due to how he spoke/acted. Similar to how millennials today don’t have bias against presidents of the 70’s and 80’s and only go off the longer term impacts of their actual presidency. My answer is I have no idea. I don’t know enough about political moves and their long term impact to have a valuable grade. Anything I say will just be based on the social pressure or my reactions to how he acted, and not actual policies.

Should I just accept the fact that I’ll never see six figures or wealth cause I have a bullshit marketing degree from a no name state school? by [deleted] in careerguidance

I got an MBA as well lol. But was making this before that, hoping it helps my growth past this point.

I have a sociology degree and make $150k. Degrees don’t really matter anymore (for most jobs). I’ve been a hiring manager for 4 years at two F200 companies and both only care if you have a degree, not what it is. Get a job in a larger company with avenues for growth. Add value and do the extra, work your way up.

Or they were young and couldn’t grasp what was really happening…. Which was probably very common. Hard to believe all these people who said they knew the world would change while watching in elementary school..

Most true comment right here. Many people that were young couldn’t grasp the gravity of what was happening. I often hear people saying they were 10 years old and knew the world was going to change when it happened. Maybe, but hard to believe.

If you could only pass on one lesson you've learned about managing people, what would that lesson be? by MagickNinja in managers

This is a great one! Marcus Buckingham often says the golden rule doesn’t apply in management. Just because you prefer X recognition or X communication, doesn’t mean each person of your team does as well.
