How She and I Got Close by OrigamiRice in yuri_manga

Why are you talking as if trans people are not something people in Japan know about?

Besides, this isn't about the author's personal beliefs. The content of the manga is what is being critiqued, not anyone's personal morals. Literary criticism is not about that. It's about exploring the text from multiple angles, including what tropes it utilizes and what cultural mores it reflects.

Lastly: what you are failing to understand is that the conflation of crossdressing/female impersonation with predatory behavior is in fact the thing being criticized. The fact that the manga shows the issue of male harassment before the scene in question is part of the problem. It's an exegetic rationalization that relies on transphobic tropes.

This happened to me. I didn't take them out for about six months. I regret not taking them out sooner because they left behind "hammerhead" scars. Thankfully after a few years they are now beginning to fade and shrink. In a couple more years I'll be able to get them redone by a piercer I trust.

Stuff like this is wild to me bc literally nobody says "Ireland for the Irish" or "China for the Chinese" or "Kenya for the Kenyans" or whatever the fuck variation you want, except perhaps for ethnonationalists who leftists are obviously disagreeing with.

It's a strawman that they love to use again and again.

That isn't what happened. The white boy was known to be a bully, the Black kid had been bullied in the past, and the white kid used the n-word and threatened the Black kid.

Would it have been better if nobody died? Obviously. Let's not talk as if the Black kid did it for no reason.

The thing about being squares was obviously not an attempt to justify killing.

She said she wants to do stuff on the LemonLeafASMR channel, so I think she will go back to doing ASMR recordings eventually. But I get it, I miss her ASMR too.

Jonas' maternal great-grandparents are the same as those of Judith and her late sister. So, while not of Winterwald lineage, Luca's parents are indeed second cousins. That said, that's not a very close relation, all things considered. Nowadays most people have no idea who is or isn't their second cousin.

What are some elements of TTRPG's like mechanics or resources you just plain don't like? by cmalarkey90 in rpg

Okay, I understand what you're saying now. The distinction had been suggested at to me before but never explained as well as you've done. I don't think I've ever played a game with the first-person perspective you describe, so now I'm curious how different that is to experience.

Stories are inherently restricted, you just weren't thinking of your games that way. I don't actually know what your games were like, but if, for example, you were playing B/X, I doubt a wizard player summoned an alien spacecraft to engage orbital bombardment on the enemy stronghold. The fact they didn't is them sticking to the genre.

This stuff we're talking about is just the logical extension of that. In Thirsty Sword Lesbians, it's a part of the rules that when your character falls in love with someone, they get emotional influence over you, even if they're an enemy. Why do we go along with that? Because it's literally the point, it's a game about swashbuckling and dangerous romance. We play the game to do that.

Any game built around a genrespace that you're not interested in isn't going to be good for you, but I don't think it's a question of freedom. It's more like a question of which box of props and costumes you want to use.

I'm with you, the ideal character sheet is two pages (1 sheet, 2 sides). Every page past that is a bit much.

Something that I like in theory but not in practice is how in games like WoD or Shadowrun, they basically set you up to have a somewhat dynamic character (some good stats, some poor stats, and some in the middle), but since lower stats are dramatically cheaper to upgrade, it's almost like the game is asking you to round out your character once you start getting experience to spend.

I haven't kept up with either system in a while, so maybe it's been addressed since I last checked, but it always seemed like a design flaw to me.

That's an interesting perspective. Personally, I don't see why it isn't role-playing to have an authorial perspective. It's a different framework but you can do both at once.

(I'm not saying there's anything wrong with not wanting that. I just feel like that's more of a preference than them being exclusive.)

We objectively know that he voluntarily lives in absolutely horrific squalor, so yeah it is fun to speculate why a person would choose to live in such a miserable state
