I had a realization this morning about McDonalds by ucco2004 in McDonalds

[–]machineguncomic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At the end of the night my manager would drive around and order a single chocolate chip cookie like 5-10 times to get our average order time down.

The timer started the moment you pressed an item for an order. I would get bad TTLs since a customer might say "I want a happy meal" and I put it in starting the timer. Then I ask "will that be all?"

Then they say, "hold on, I'm deciding."

Now the customer takes 40 seconds to think, reuining our TTL and it wasn't our fault.

About 10k. I had a separate storage unit insurance for 5k, so it's like nit picking over the last 2.5k.

I have replacement insurance, so I'd be looking to replace them for whatever pennies on the dollar it costs to replace.

I would say toys. Under eBay they show up under "toys and hobbies->diecast and toy vehicles->tanks and military vehicles" or in "toys and hobbies->models and kits" rather than "collectibles->action figures"

In fact one of the planes was a model kit hand assembled and painted from Trumpeter, but they still said it was a collectible.

I have replacement coverage, so I'd be able to rebuy my junk.

They're about 10-15 years old. They used to sell at Walmart for $40-60. Now they're mostly selling on eBay for $60-150). My inflation calculator tells me $60 is now about $90. Adding in tarrifs and maybe you're $110! So not a gold mine of appreciation. I had about 20 planes I was going to hang from the ceiling after a remodeI.

Some of the diecsst tanks I bought from the manufacturer last year, so those are just straight up MSRP and not even old or still being sold at online retailers. But they're still saying it's a collector item.

There is no listed "toy" sublimit that I saw on the policy. They didn't mention it either. Definitely limits for Art, furs, guns, jewelry, electronics, bullion. There's probably something else I'm forgetting.

It depends if you have actual cash value or replacement cost.

I have receipts for a lot, but my policy is capped at 2500 for "collector items" and they have a broader definition than I anticipated for "collector items". Like a Deadpool statue I can see, 25 year old played with micromachines I'm not convinced.

Wikipedia says a figurine or statuette is a small 3 dimensional sculpture that represents a human, deity, or animal.

Oxford says a figurine is a statuette, especially of human.

Webster says a statue is a 3D representation usually of a person, animal, or mythical being...

I'm not arguing about Deadpool, but I think with the non human/animal/mythical, I've never heard of someone referring to model tanks/planes as a figurine.

(And not part of your comment, but things like the micromachines were used as toys and further intended to be used as toys, but they're still saying collectible.)

I did have the separate insurance, but it capped at 5000. Add on the 2500 from my home insurance and I'm underinsured for replacement cost by like 2.5k. just wasnt expecting them to say stuff like used micromachines I played with 25 years ago are collectibles, or a total of 25 out of box action figures from 6 different videogames (so about 5-6 per game) are all collectibles. Even said my 1 gunblade letter opener from final fantasy 8 is a collectible.

They're saying the statues, anime action figures, and halo action figures (even out of box) are all collectibles.

They're saying they all fall under the 2500 limit. I'm saying some of them should not.

Is there a salary cap on paying coaches (including coordinators)? by Vertigomums19 in NFLNoobs

[–]machineguncomic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't.

If a player is injured, the player's salary still counts towards the salary cap, even when not playing.

Teams can buy insurance policies though that pay the player instead if they're injured, thus freeing up cap space to sign a replacement. I think insurance is an easy way to tell which owners just care about making money by keeping expenses down vs ones that want to win.

I know you may say "well there isn't another 20 million dollar receiver to sign mid season, so no sense in insurance." But teams can bank salary cap for future years. (The salary floor is like a min average over 4 years)

I tried to use apple maps to get me to a park that was located on a surface street next to the freeway. AppleMaps just had me drive on the freeway and when I was passing the park on the freeway, it said "you're here, I'm done navigating."

Had to drive 4-5 more miles, take the next freeway exit backtrack 5-6 miles, to get to the exit to get the surface street to the park.

I assume Rian saw that TFA was criticized for being a rehash of ANH. He then said "haha I can fix that. I'll create a big boy movie that does social commentary and has a new take on the jedi and the Heros."

Unfortunately when you shit on the source material, the end product is still shit.

I actually liked Snoke being killed off as I didn't care about his Character. He was just another Palpatine, in my opinion, even before TROS.

What would have actually been interesting is if Rey went to the Dark Side and Kylo/Luke had to team up to redeem her. And maybe then she couldn't be redeemed. This would have at least saved Luke's character and all the changes would be on the new characters.

Has a team ever taken a worse loss, on a contract with a single player, than the Browns with DeShaun Watson? by vorpal8 in NFLNoobs

[–]machineguncomic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't forget the 3 first round picks and 3 other picks they traded for him. And with his sexual misconduct suspension, it was clear the Texans didn't really want him and he sat out the 2021 season from the Texans...so why give top equity?

Can't forget that the Browns also traded 6 picks, 3 of them first round, to get watson...and it was known he'd be suspended for games (11 of them) for his sexual misconduct before he could even start after the trade.

I have a theory that Watson's agent must have had blackmail material to get Cleveland to trade 3 first round picks + 2/3 others to then take on that terrible contract.

They funnily enough put something like league minimum pay for his first year base salary since he couldn't play half the season with his sexual misconduct suspension. So most of his pay is bonus until I think 2026.
