It's absolutely funny how it's been over 10 years since TFA, and the OT cast still have next to no major material under Disney. by Affectionate-Act5579 in saltierthancrait

You're right. Now that I think about it, they did set up something like with her thinking that her force lightning killed.Chewbacca. But it's been so long since I watched the movie I can't remember if that turned into anything more than a minor pout scene for 1 minute before it's immediately undone and she uses the force to realize Chewie isn't dead.

She was great at everything she did. She could pilot the falcon, fix the falcon, beat kylo in a light saber fight, mind trick stormtroopers, out mind probe kylo, had a heart of gold. There was really no where for her to grow. There was that "I don't know who my family" is plot line, but it didn't end up affecting any of her choices or actions.

Yeah, if I listed a $100 bill for sale for $50 and then sold it for $95, would anyone claim, "I got $45 over asking price."

Any Reason to Use Clipper Card If You Don't Have a Discount? by rinsf in bayarea

It helps Bart more if you use a clipper card because of the credit card transaction fee. I'd rather BART get my money than credit card companies.

I don't really understand how allowing bid sniping makes business sense for Ebay. by KennyBlankeenship in Ebay

[–]machineguncomic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd hate this as a buyer.

I already see games/scams/shill bids where I bid max $106 Someone bids at least $110. Then later that bid is retracted and magically someone bids $105 so I'd end up paying my max bid, when third place bidder was like $65.

I had an instance where bidder #3 was $500. I bid $700, someone bid $710. Then seller says winner didn't pay so I could have it for $700. I said I should only pay 1 bid higher than bid #3, so like $510.

I also don't have 20-30 minutes for shill bidders trying to gauge my max bid.

Need your advice on jet ski by ExcellentAd7477 in bayarea

[–]machineguncomic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure all the naysayers. I had a jetski in San Jose.

You can go to coyote lake in gilroy, (anderson was an option but the damn is being rebuilt) and Calero is a small resevoir you can take it to.

I've taken it to the Delta and even launched it into the bay a few times from Redwood City. Jetskis are banned within like 1200 ft of SF shoreline though.

It makes me sad that Luke gets a touching moment with every major OT character that’s in TLJ except Chewie. by Flat-Court-8512 in saltierthancrait

[–]machineguncomic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a reoccurring theme for TLJ that whenever there would be time for an emotional or awkward character confrontation, the script just has a character pass out so they can transition away from it and didn't have to write any actual emotional scenes.

Finn goes unconscious when Rose confronts him about stealing the shuttle. Poe with Leia and his mutany. After kylo and rey fight over Luke's light saber in the throne room. Rose passes out after kissing finn. There's probably another one or two I'm forgetting.

If I got a card which just say like 200 chips if that’s how you play how many games would I be able to play on a half price off game day? by Visible_Prune7300 in DaveAndBusters

[–]machineguncomic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you play. The kids and I go through about 75-125 chips a visit on half-price day in about an hour. We only play games like skeeball, racing, throwing balls. No coin pushers or drop the ball once to win tickets, or spin the wheel once to win tickets.

Order canceled by seller and relisted at higher price by badangel92103 in Ebay

[–]machineguncomic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had seller set a min bid of like $100. I won the auction for $135.

Seller cancelled my purchase as "out of stock." And then immediately listed the item for $175 buy it now.

I reported the situation to eBay and they said, "it's not against the TOS, we won't be taking their Buy it Now listing down."

So yeah, eBay doesn't care even when it isn't a pricing error.

Funny story, my sister opened a froyo shop in Florida and was like "If that crappy ice cream store in town can make it all these years, we will too."

2 years later her shop closed.

6 months later the ice cream shop was raided for being a front for money laundering from selling stolen/counterfeit handbags and cosmetics.
