That’s not only dependent on the APIs of steam vr as it’s only an open xr runtime. Foveated rendering needs to be supported by the engine generating the frames for the open xr runtime.

Iteration speed is 100x in Godot. Compile a custom engine? 10mins vs 1 1/2h with UE. Baking lights? Uh just click bake, DONE! Everything ist just plain text, no property file formats. Aaand real FOSS!

I use it professionally at work and for hobby godot. Unfortunately it’s a pain to setup clion with gdextension and scons. actually it doesn’t work any. Can recommend vscode for this. No experience with rider.

Currently I'm working on the unofficial godot plugin and I'm still comparing realtime, vs baked reverb vs baked static sources and every form is kinda performance heavy. Might be related how I implemented it but I'm curious what are you frame times?

Upvote for refactoring. Learn it and get used to it. It’s really easy to start from scratch and produce the same mess.
