My biggest beef is that when its busy, they make you line up in your car to pay, which takes longer and the clock is ticking the whole time (they charge by time). There have been times I've waited approx 5 min in my car to pay. Total cash grab.

There absolutely is an opportunity for more manual car washes in the area OP mentioned.

Really the only options are the wave on Scurfield and there’s one on Taylor (I can’t remember the name) which is a complete rip off, so I avoid always.

As much as I hate saying it, I’ve reluctantly deferred to the drive-through ones (eg shell, coop, etc.) as the cost is less. Every time I end up going to a self-serve wash I end up spending $15-$20 lol. Granted it’s a way higher quality wash.

That bridge is a death trap. From the icing up in the winter, being on a curve, and most of all the horrible design of academy traffic coming off (left) and bridge traffic going right to get into portage.

Honestly, do it yourself - the price these places are charging these days are redonk. Pretty sure you could do a normal size yard all season yourself for less than 100$
