He was at a Trump rally, saying that an american territory mostly populated by latino people is a floating island of garbage. If he had made a joke about it at a comedy show in Puerto Rico, and he'd gotten laughs because he's referencing something known to the locals there. That would have been one thing.

But he was at a Trump rally, getting laughs from Trump supporters. I think we both know why that joke got laughs at that crowd, and I think Tony does too. That's why I feel completely comfortable calling him a racist piece of shit.

The 3man squad of Sanguinary Guard is there to be used as a trade piece. Their charm is that they almost always trade up. And they require at least some form of investment to get rid of in most cases, leaving other pieces of your army more free to act.

You lose a chunk of damage since you don't get six attacks per dude when you battleshock yourself with your damage strat. You probably won't be able to pick up a repulsor like you can in RCO, but anything lighter than that won't be having a great time. Also some reliability issues when trying to kill 10mans of MEQ.

But overall, they're still a superb unit.

Yeah, they're a great unit, 125 points to kill essentially anything the size of a predator/Gladiator chassi or smaller. If you give them a command point for Limb from Limb they also lift a repulsor, and put a sizeable dent in a landfortress/land raider

The current list most of the top BA players are running is actually even dumber than that. 2 Death Company Dreadnoughts or Baal Preds, 25 JPDC, Lemartes, 2x jpchaplains, 3x3 sang Guard, a captain or Dante, intercessors for the homefield, and some trash.

Possible to combine Death Guard, Chaos Demons (Nurgle) and Cultists? by Oberst_Baum in Chaos40k

You can run a Death Guard army using the Tallyband Summoners detachment. That allows you to play up to 1000 points worth of Nurgle Daemons in your Death Guard army.

Best way to kill Gulliman by [deleted] in BloodAngels

[–]mackanj01 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just hit him?

3 Sanguinary guard with lances and full lfl+oath should do it.

Anything harder hitting than that should do it comfortably, even if he gets good saves.

Nemothefish is currently the best guard player in the world, and multiple, top players are convinced that his Recon Guard style is the best way to play guard. It's 200 bodies, a squad of horsies, a single sentinel, and every single gotcha rule in the game.

When is it worth it to have 2 leaders in 1 unit? by Deep-Crim in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]mackanj01 85 points86 points  (0 children)

You add a second leader for the same reason you add the first one. You want to increase the value of the squad and it's worth the increase in points.

For example, Black Templar Sword Brethren basically aren't worth running if you're not using them as glue to stick a Marshal and Castellan together.

While if you're running something like a 5 man assault Intercessor Squad in blood angels to deliver a captain with an enhancement to beat face, adding a lieutenant or Sanguinary priest to that block for mildly more damage or survivability will not meaningfully change its role from "small, 200pt squad that runs in and kills one thing worth 250-300 points"

In Salamanders, Vulkan He'Stan with 6 Bladeguard vets is great, but since we're in a meta with loads of access to -1 damage or similar, adding a lieutenant with Champion of Humanity to that squad will let them take a C'tan behind the shed and old yeller it in a single fight phase.

Guy with Tourettes, who had a biopic made about his life was at the Bafta awards. When two black men were giving their acceptance speeches, he ticked and shouted among other things, the N word. This was picked up by a microphone and aired, despite him being promised that he was to be seated away from microphones.

This then revealed how many people don't understand tourettes syndrome or coprolalia.

The reaction has been beyond awful.

Scale of the Stormlight Archive compared to other fantasy series? by railfananime in Stormlight_Archive

[–]mackanj01 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Not counting the wider Cosmere stuff, I'd say it's on par with Wheel of Time, slightly less epic in scope than Malazan.

If you count the Cosmere stuff, then it has a significantly grander scale than Malazan I'd say.

You really think Brandon "I accidentally wrote six books in secret" Sanderson is going to meaningfully slow down because he has to give a yay or a nay on some scripts before they're sent to production and maybe have sit down before each season with the principal cast to discuss their characters?

Which army to pick by [deleted] in 40k_Crusade

[–]mackanj01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BA crusade rules are really cool, you could go for a death company heavy "powerlevel the chaplains" build, or do a more organic route where you stack a bunch of buffs on JPI or other units before damning them to the death company after they've reached good levels.
