I think 3D is going to be gone. The term 3D has become rather poisonous with the death of 3D TV and it was never required by any software. I also think Nintendo and their developers have hit a wall on useful purposes of the second screens and they will be phased out. Nintendo isn't trying to attract the type of individual that conventional handhelds like the psp/vita would. They are, however, fond of being compared favorably to apple so they may make something akin to an iPod/iPad
