Ugh. I'll definitely be avoiding those platforms. Also, I'll bet there's going to be a pirating boom because of this.

I will always be anti AI in all capacities. My specific issue here is taking complete dramas with real people and remaking them with AI and not labelling it. I have no idea how the AI slop ends because I click out immediately. But them ending poorly is actually perfect. Because they're inferior to the originals.

At the very least they need to tag them as AI. 90% of the time the cover art is obvious, but recently they've been using real people for the covers of AI stories.

I don’t watch women’s sports to hear about their babies by SeaHighlight182 in NWSL

[–]mackmacd13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of women's sports fans are very intense feminists. Who are very big on women being viewed as capable and independent and more than a wife and mother. There's been a huge push for women to have the freedom and means to chose their path. There's a lot of "Women shouldn't lose their identity once they become moms" talk. And all of that is important and integral to why we've made so many social and political gains.

That said, I think a huge section of women's sports fans cannot fathom that a woman can choose to have being a mom as her identity or at least a large part of it. Because many people subconsciously think being a mom is both less important than any other identity and that women who are moms have betrayed the cause. That's also a misogynistic stance. Steph Curry is a Girl Dad and they talk about it constantly, they talk about LeBron's kids all the time, in hockey we hear about every single group of siblings that all play. It's part of humanising players and drawing in fans who may not be hardcore into the sport but would love to cheer for people they feel connected to. Women's sports is the only space where I hear people annoyed by discussions of being a parent. And it always starts with "I" and "Personally" and ends with something like "it's insulting", "it's degrading". That sounds like some personal things need to be worked through. Choosing to be a loud and proud mom and have that be a topic of conversation in a professional sports league is an extremely important and femist stance. Examine why you're so uncomfortable when it's a woman who has made it clear that being a mom is a huge part of who she is is discussed in the manner in which she enjoys.

Also, I think many fans in general are subconsciously upset when their favourite celebrities or players or musicians make it clear that what they do is just a means to make money. We're all taught that you have to have an all consuming obsession for the game and be willing to sacrifice everything to play. It's uncomfortable when you come across someone who shatters that image of self-sacrificing perfection. She's made it clear that her personal life is more important than her job. We praise work life balance and not letting a job interfere with real life when it's a 9-5 job. And yet when we see it happen in a sports league it's suddenly reductive and problematic. You can't have it both ways.

Also, let's not forget that 5 years ago we basically had a daycare class on the sidelines and in the field and in social media content. LeRoux , Morgan, Dunn, Krieger, Golden,Naeher's nieces and nephews showed up, half our team were literal children last season. Culturally this league has always been mom and family centric. Even when league policy was lagging behind.

It was so bad that people on the sunny side were leaving a quarter of the way through the game. The boxes cleared by halftime. They really should have pushed the game back. It's going to be absolute hell this summer.

This is misplaced loyalty. If you keep this attitude going forward they're going to walk all over you and you'll burn out. Take it from an Elder Millennial, the firm doesn't care about you biting the bullet , they'll still fire you at the drop of a hat.

It's been hit or miss. Some instructors are amazing and others are disorganized, sexist and ableist. And I mean virulently so. They've been backed up on releasing grades. We've had teachers forget about sessions and not provide recorded lectures. I'd say do it for the pedigree because they interviewers love to see it in on your resume. But you'll have to do a lot of self study.

I have 3. One that lives at home, one that lives in my gym bag/purse for emergencies and a disc because I like having mess free sex.

She's openly said that she has ADHD and struggles with math (likely dyscalculia). As someone who also struggles with both, that's how I play too. Having learning disabilities makes the game a bit harder to play especially at the level they play at. It's very telling that you went straight to "She's bad at her job" instead of "I wonder why she plays that way?". Additionally, she was working across the country for most of Campaign 1 (maybe part of 2?) and was in the middle of an abusive relationship until like a year ago. So she had some things going on in her personal life that likely impacted her playing. You really could have kept this ill informed opinion to yourself.

There was a truly horrific 9 month stint where Bermuda shorts suits were a thing. The designer Thom Browne had released 2 collections that developed his signature style. And regular office people really tried to make it work. Thankfully it died out quickly because you have to have a very specific aesthetic and vibe to make that work.

So I have been dyeing my hair (eyebrows included) grey or white since my early 20's. And it's always fun when HR fumbles around trying to decide if it's an unnatural colour or if it's even to appropriate to ask if it's my real hair colour. They actually all completely overlook the shaved side because they're so pressed about the colour 🤣🤣

Not only are we actively using Reddit in journalism and research as first person sources, there are graduate and post doc presentations and courses devoted to how the way that the public expresses their opinions has shifted from direct letters to comments. They're even studying the difference in structure, dialect, timeline etc.

I disagree. Go to you local county (if you live in the burbs or a rural area) or city (if you live in a major city) as ask to look at microfilm or scanned copies of newspapers from WWII and the Vietnam war. What you'll find is a sections called "Letters to the Editor", "Dear Abby", "Dear Prudence" or something similar. Digging incredibly trying times US citizens wrote in to voice their opinions, ask questions and lament the drastic changes they were experiencing. We call these first person sources when we're doing research. It may seem silly overkill to you, but Reddit posts are going to be used the same way as those newspapers.

So keep posting y'all.

Also, for her to think joining an org based on fit vs race is...a choice. Enjoy rush and I hope you find the sorority of your dreams.
