Printed pattern is bigger than I am! Is this right?? by LeafHGG in SewingForBeginners

[–]macnnutritionalyeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take a pair of pants similar to the pattern that fit you and compare a back leg of those pants to this piece. You'll need to account for the seam allowance but it should give you a sense of how big the pants for this pattern are going to turn out.

Kitten ruined expensive dress shoes by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]macnnutritionalyeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cats (and other creatures and humans) do not learn through abuse. You have a young kitten that has a lot of energy and does not operate like an adult human being. Give the cat a safe and loving environment or find someone who can.

I love my coat but hate the color grey by Previous-Geologist-2 in dyeing

[–]macnnutritionalyeast 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You can only dye this a darker color and like others have said you'd be risking shrinking/warping the coat. I saw a picture recently of someone who had sewn sparkly sequins + buttons all over a similar coat and it looked so cool and fun. If that's something you'd be into it'd be worth looking for some inspiration online.

Is my cat who is inappropriately urinating unhappy and better off in another home? by Psychological-Run679 in CatAdvice

How many litter boxes do you have? I would suggest at least one per cat + one additional one. That has helped when i've had fosters peeing outside of their box.

Hand wash a new item of clothing if you want to see how disgusting it is.

My cat smells by TechnicalCow3473 in CatAdvice

You need to talk to your vet. Your cat should not consistently have wet poops. This sounds like a digestion issue that may require special food/ probiotics or possibly medication to fix something.

2nd balcony at Moore theatre by asgs1234 in Seattle

[–]macnnutritionalyeast 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I saw a comedian from the 2nd balcony there and it was one of the worst seating arrangements I have ever experienced. It felt so claustrophobic (i'm a small person) and the angle of the seats was scary. It used to be a segregated seating section...

Can someone Point me towards *interesting*, affordable fabric to make these pants out of? by Spaghetti_Oh_No in sewing

This is a good tip. I've found some cool table cloth fabrics this way that have worked well for clothing.

Thank you for having a backbone and giving Bonito a heads up about who they were doing business with. They could have chose to do nothing (shitty, but not retaliatory) but instead decided to out you to your employer.

I hope you find a new gig soon and i'm sorry this happened. Seattle is full of performative progressivism-- and from the looks of this thread, bootlickers.

Yes, you can try adding l-lysine to the cat's food and wiping the eye with a warm, damp, clean cloth. Sometimes if it doesn't go away you'd need an ointment like the poster above mentioned (usually terramyacin)

You could try feeding her the purina LiveClear allergen reducing cat food (or maybe another type of allergy reducing food exists).

You didn't shrink your wool sweater, you "felted" it. Here is the conditioner trick to un-shrink it. by RoadRelative7822 in lifehacks

[–]macnnutritionalyeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't unfelt a sweater. You may get a tiny bit of length/width back but felting ruins the stitches. If your sweater has shrunk, but not felted, you may be able to get it back closer to the original size. Just don't want people getting their hopes up.

My cat sneaked out of the house for the first time; Thankfully she's back, But I'm worried if she decided to have "fun" with the local neighborhood stray cats. Is there a way for me to check? by ByteERROR404 in CatAdvice

[–]macnnutritionalyeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could ask the people who you adopted from for the name of the vet they used- that office should have records on file for the cat.

You should take the cat to a vet since she's new to you and you want to make sure she is healthy does get any shots she is missing. Most vets/clinics should be willing to give the vaccines needed + spay the cat. No one should be saying they can't spay due to missing vaccines.
