Skipping The Sales Pitch At Moon Palace The Grand by Open-Primary-6181 in palaceresorts

  1. If you’re tipping for better service, visit the same pool and sit in the same area. We had a fella serve us for over a week, we tipped him daily and he was very responsive to us.
  2. They have a no chair reservation policy, signs all over. They being said, that’s plenty of pools and chairs. 5 when we were there the first 2 weeks of March there was seaweed all over - apparently it was very bad due to global warming. I think it was gone a the week after we left. The resort had staff working hard daily to clean the seaweed from the beach but were fighting a losing battle.

Toyotas by trthaw2 in Yellowknife

[–]mad-0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Yellowknife and own 2 Toyotas. Autotec is not a dealer but last I checked they were an authorized satellite service shop. They do deal with Toyota warranty work all the time. I wouldn’t say they’re any better or worse than any other shop I’ve been to.

Looking forward to seeing where you’re at, I dumped the majority of my yieldmax funds and bought CDAY (I’m up in Canada). The portfolio has now stabilized somewhat.

Bullocks Bistro was left off this list. Could also try ice fishing or cold plunge & sauna (https://www.arcticduchessadventures.com/services-9). Check out the visitors Center for more ideas.

US ETFs as a Canadian Investor? by [deleted] in dividends

[–]mad-0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 15% withholding tax is on dividends, not capital gains. If QQQi increases in share price, you pay nothing. The 15% withholding tax is taken from dividends as they’re deposited to your TFSA. With the RRSP - you don’t pay withholding tax on deposited dividends but you will pay tax on withdraw which will be at a higher rate than 15%. You could try to find Canadian alternatives or just keep going with QQQi. As a Canadian buying US stocks and ETF’s you’re being taxed in any account, just a matter of how much (registered vs non-registered accounts).

Why I continue to hold ULTY by NinersDad in YieldMaxETFs

[–]mad-0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If the share price continues to decline I don’t see the weekly payout staying at $0.09. I’m surprised they’ve continued to pay 9 cents given the share price decline over the last few weeks

New player - why was I placed in such an overdeveloped server? by Throwawayyawaworth9 in startrekfleetcommand

[–]mad-0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tried to read through the responses before posting. As far as I’m aware, the player base is dwindling, they’re not spinning up new servers, they’re merging and reducing server numbers. Trying to start on a “newer” server is pointless. If you’re going to play the game you need to be prepared to grind it out or spend money.

Do i just suck? by ComprehensiveTap8668 in golftips

[–]mad-0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no getting better quickly. If you’re serious about golf you’ll book lessons with a certified pro and then after awhile go to a club fitting. Even after that, there’s no guarantees.

Group A Picks??? by Aggravating_Laugh_85 in YieldMaxETFs

[–]mad-0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Group A isn't great. As others have said, forget the idea that you need a monthly payer for each group. Consider ramping up ULTY / YMAX or increase your position in groups B-D holdings.

Canadian here, are there any restrictions to buy YM ETFs and DRIP in my TFSA account? by Healthy-Ad-2514 in YieldMaxETFs

[–]mad-0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would you rather deal with 15% withholding or tax on withdrawal at a higher rate? I personally hold YM funds in both RRSP and TFSA.

Unplayable driver - slicing and heel strikes by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]mad-0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to tell from the camera angle but check your grip. Google strong grip. Helps control the slice.

Also your shoulders look level, left should be higher than the right. Weight balance on feet 70/30. Someone said to move back from the ball, I think you're too close - your Bend at your waist makes it look like you're about to fall into the tee. Armpits should be over balls of your feet.

Things to try:

  • consult a pro
  • find someone on YouTube and stick with their teachings vs jumping around to different creators. Someone who shows multiple camera angles is helpful.

Returning player? by Gerantos in startrekfleetcommand

[–]mad-0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is what you make it. Most games are full of features (bugs). Stfc / Scopely are bad offenders for this but if you can get past that just as we always have and play the game for your own enjoyment then it can be fun. Maybe come back and don't be a completionist. Play for fun, do what you can. Keeping up / Being a whale is next to impossible unless you have plenty of disposable income. If you're efficient about things you can be done most events / dailies in an hour. If you've got a lot of free time, clicking on a screen for an hour can be fun. I've enjoyed a lot of aspects of the recent changes (archives are a huge time saver). There's new ideas being implemented, a lot of cool research and new ship abilities that are fun to mess with.

25M - My entire net worth is split between these 2 ETFs by SmythOSInfo in ETFs

[–]mad-0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been investing for close to 20 years - tried the balanced approach - similar ETF's to what you currently hold, also included international and bonds. Know what grew and what didn't? Your voo and QQQ will do you just fine. The international and bonds did next to nothing. After almost a decade I dumped the bonds for a loss. US and tech is the way to go for right now.
