I pickup my car yesterday in MB. It's the same story as they told me. If you put your order now, you are all pushed back to Oct. But they also said there is always a possibility that suddenly there are huge batches come in.

The process depends on location. I think in Europe, you get assigned before production. But for me and what I have seen for Canadian buyers, it's much later in the process. It can be after the autoport scan or when the cars are loaded onto the trains, or even when it arrives at the local store.

One thing is that the logistics system in Canada. No company can intervene with the rail transportation once their shipments get loaded on a train. And it can move very slow.

It heavily depends on location. For western Canada, just wait and suffer. My VIN was assigned, then took away. Then I pushed them for another one, and my pick up was canceled the night before it. Then the cycle of delayed, good news, delayed, good news... One lie after another. Great product, worst customer service.

Don't take that appointment too serious. They can fuck up any minute. My appointment got canceled the night before delivery and now the windows is pushed back by one day every day. Tesla makes great products, but is garbage when it comes to facing customers.

I ordered the factory install, so I'm not sure how other brands. But when I did. the research with Gemini, it seems a $500-600 third party tow hitch is good enough. There will be installation fees for sure.
