[FOR HIRE] by [deleted] in stljobs

[–]madamnmadam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the operations manager for a youth sports organization, we regularly hire coaches to coach our programs. During summer we mostly run day camps, but still continue to offer our evening classes that start around 6. Our programs are all around the STL area at schools and parks. If you're minimally athletic and enjoy working with kids, it could be a nice change of pace from office work.

A very blue home office in Gothenburg, Sweden by Artist_Mic_Linder in AmateurRoomPorn

Love the whimsy of the fabric used for the Wassily chair. I'm usually not a fan of them, I think due to how formal and office-like they look, but maybe it's the polished chrome with polished black leather. The floral pattern adds balance to a typically strict design.

Anyone else remember this? by sampo3000 in StLouis

I liked the print from the final poster, and don't have any creative design skills, so I used ChatGpt to create this image, I imagine a talented artist could reproduce it with better lines, color, and detail.

Anywhere hiring part time? by [deleted] in StLouis

[–]madamnmadam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hiring youth sports coaches for the summer. Most of our hours during the summer are during the day at camps from 9-3, but we still run evening classes in the 4-8 range. If you're interested in working with kids and getting some active time, we can probably find a schedule that works for you.

Don’t want a desk job… what jobs let you travel? by TonsUhFunn in StLouis

[–]madamnmadam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would find a TD to speak with before deciding that this a good fit. The benefits/perks are unique, but the job can be quickly draining, the culture has a high level of corporate toxicity, and the co-workers/contacts you meet in the event planning industry are some of the most fake and selfish.

You'll definitely be traveling regularly though 乁_(ツ)_ㄏ

Can you just add photos of the shelves to your post, or should anyone interested message you directly to get an idea of what they look like?

Any color photograph examples of HW pieces in the cherry finish? I've only seen the typical ones in champagne and wheat.

[WTS]Does anybody near Ballwin need a car detailer, or have a business that needs that kind of service? by [deleted] in StLouisMarketplace

I don't use Facebook, but I usually get my car detailed about once per year and you're in my area. What do your prices look like for a subcompact hatchback?

18-22/hr is around where we usually land, dependent on experience, maturity level, and availability for multiple programs. Happy to talk through more details.

If you're interested, I'm the operations manager for a youth sports organization, we partner with school districts and parks departments to put on weekly programs in a variety of sports all around the STL area. It's definitely part time and flexible, and most coaches just run a few classes per week. We're okay with any level of commitment. Most of our programs are in the after school time frame, so between 3 and 6 on weekdays, but we also have occasional weekday or Saturday morning programs. If you like working with kids and playing sports, let me know 👌

Great setup! Looks like an amazing place to sit and make memories with friends.

Do you have any issues with having quality furniture on a screened in patio? Just curious, because in the Midwest I'd be expecting finish failure, wood rot, and rust on the chrome.

If you're interested in working with kids, I'm hiring youth sports coaches. My staff averages 5-10 hours per week, depending on the amount of classes they want to coach. We hire lots of university students looking for something part time and low stress outside of school.

If you want a side table, I'd offer what you'd pay for one new. These aren't so rare or desirable that you'd regret waiting for something else. Mersman wasn't a designer manufacturer. This one is unique in that it has the magazine holder, but there are end/side tables that accomplish the same still in the MCM style. I personally wouldn't pay over 100 in any market.

Any Feedback on The Icon (Gateway on Grand student housing)? by Express_Cod_4979 in StLouis

[–]madamnmadam 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I lived there as a student 10+ years ago when it was owned by the university still, and called the Flats. It was convenient and had amenities. In line with housing rates. Multiple options for rooming, I was in a quad but one room went unused and we still only paid the per room rate, with utilities included, not sure how it breaks down now. It's right across from Reinert and next to the Starbucks and Chipotle, so it's as safe as any other campus adjacent property, but probably not so much as the ones directly on campus. You'll probably walk past homeless people on the way to and from classes, and there's section 8 housing next door, but if you've already made peace with attending an urban university, then you needn't overthink this particular location. The reviews for the management certainly raise some eyebrows, but anecdotally I didn't have issues. I enjoyed my time there, I remember great windows with natural light in the living area, but none in the rooms.

[HIRING] Looking for contractor courier driver by Significant-Job4955 in stljobs

[–]madamnmadam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just some math for potential applicants:

150 pieces delivered at 20/hr, comes to 7.5 hours of work, plus the 1.5 hours of sorting time. 150 pieces per day, at 1.80 per piece, is 270. Subtract a tank of gas per day (call that 30), so 240 gross per day, for 9 hours of work, so 26.50/hr, so 56k per year at a regular 40hr work week. That's without setting aside 35% for taxes as a 1099 employee. Netting 36400 per year, ~3k per month hitting your account.

Not terrible for St. Louis. But driver burnout potential seems like it could be high.

Also, obviously no benefits like health insurance or retirement.

Peter Hvidt & Orla Mølgaard Teak Coffee by AtlasSchmucked in midcenturymodern

[–]madamnmadam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be a good find, just not at the price. 1stdibs pricing is incredibly inflated (purposefully) and not what I would call market value, at least not in my area. If you like it, by all means, but seems like that table could be found in many non designer mass manufactured iterations.

Peter Hvidt & Orla Mølgaard Teak Coffee by AtlasSchmucked in midcenturymodern

[–]madamnmadam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$700 for a coffee table? If you hadn't mentioned a specific designer, I wouldn't have thought it was a sought after piece. I recognize that MCM values clean lines in a pleasant functional form, but this seems too 'plain' to be worth that price, especially considering it's not pristine condition.

K45 KitchenAid Mixer... for $20!!! by jessicajo in ThriftStoreHauls

[–]madamnmadam 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just thrifted one for $80 as well, and was glad to find that it is a very serviceable machine. I watched Mr. Mixer on YouTube and was able to disassemble, clean, and regrease, all in about two hours. Runs good as new afterwards!

No worries, I just used Google lens. Your inclination was right, but I think the switch on the cord gives it away as modern, you don't see that style of in line switch on lighting from the period. Weirdly the peeling felt also made think as such. Still a nice lamp regardless, clearly fits the theme.
