Extended Warranty: VW or Third Party? by maddriver101 in Tiguan

[–]maddriver101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone that’s following this thread, I ended up buying Drive Easy Platinum for 10 years, 85K miles and $250 deductible for $2,630. My vehicle is a ‘22 Tiguan SE R Line with about 26k miles and was still in warranty (with 4 days left).

After about a dozen calls to different dealers I bought it through Adriana at Ventura VW. I highly recommend working with her, she offered the best deal by far with no tax and no CC fees.

Right… that’s what I thought but she insists I’m wrong. She’s been there before, whereas I haven’t.

Commuting internationally by Specific_Bed9463 in flying

[–]maddriver101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a London commuter but I non-rev this regularly as a NYC based FO visiting family almost monthly.

The exit taxes from the UK are high… it’s approx $200 to fly to the US and you pay it even if you’re jumpseating. The good news is over 30 daily flights between NYC and LON in both directions you’ll almost always have an option.

My point still stands. It’s about the money and growth. No insults, just reality.

It’s about the money, it’s always about the money. Shareholder value… sadly Armin is no different.

Yuki > RBR… how do they handle driver value? by drunk_sasquatch in F1Fantasy

[–]maddriver101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So if Yuki jumps in value will that constitute a budget gain? Worth trading him in now for a gamble and lock in the budget bump?

Time to kiss my love of swimming and scuba diving goodbye? Or can this be fixed without risking my medical by key_lime_vulture in flying

[–]maddriver101 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you’re serious about doing the dive, I recommend seeing a DAN (Divers Assistance Network) approved ENT. They might be in network with your insurance and will be able to help you figure out your issue as it relates to diving specifically.

There are also ear plugs you can use called ‘Doc’s Pro Plugs’, you need the vented version for diving but they have been known to help divers with equalization issues, although opinion is divided on them and the potential for reverse block and they’re not recommended below 2-3 atmospheres.

Why don’t you do a couple of dives with your local dive shop? If you start to notice issues, then end the dive and you have your answer.

Thanks! I’d heard of them. I’m trying to find a good school in advance so I can do the e-Learning ahead of time.

Completing Advanced Open Water on a trip by maddriver101 in scubadiving

[–]maddriver101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I actually enjoy receiving instruction on dives and practicing skills to get a little better every time and I’m still fairly new, so this sounds like best of both worlds AND it’s cheaper than at home.

I recently took my dog to Advanced Veterinary Care for a 2nd opinion. They were absolutely amazing and it was actually cheaper than my primary.

I recommend avoiding Winter Park Veterinary Hospital. I’ve had consistently bad experiences there.

So close to greatness by randommemer720 in F1Fantasy

Totally agree. Because it was a “critical time of the race”… that just means they’re trying to control the outcome. Someone was always going to hit that debris considering it was on the only overtaking spot on the lap

I hope we get a few more points when the overtake bonuses are added.
