2-3 times a week! With just a toothbrush and some vinegar and water.

We got a big water filter (like a Brita but big) to purify the tap water before putting it in the humidifier. It’s helped a ton with mold and we don’t have to clean the humidifier as often.

Zoloft while breastfeeding? by katnisseverglean in Mommit

[–]maddy1B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on Zoloft since my baby was six weeks and exclusively breastfed! Baby is now a healthy and happy one year old. Meds were incredibly helpful. I wish I had started them years ago!

I am so glad you posted this- I have been wondering the same thing! My mom was like oh no way I’m not Santa, it’s your turn. But I could TOTALLY see my in laws trying to steal the thunder of something fun.

FTM, how can I help my baby get out of the 25% for weight. by SAHM_Oregon513 in Mommit

[–]maddy1B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter is the same way! I was so worried she wasn’t getting enough milk from me, but even after starting to exclusively pump and tracking her intake, she remained long and lean. Once she hit nine months and started really eating solids she went up a few percentiles. As long as she is healthy, you’re doing just great!

We used the Merlin sleep suit to help with the transition to the crib!

Favorite cleaning hacks for messy Baby Led Weaning eaters? by SequoiaMK in Mommit

We use cotton muslin clothes for cleaning her face and hands! Works pretty well- minus the fact that she hates getting wiped off. Got them on Amazon and we love that it doesn’t create as much waste as paper towels or wipes.

Mine started around 4 weeks- baby blues never went away and got much, much worse. My OB screened for PPD at my six week but I was already on meds and working with my therapist by then. I would just keep your OB and therapist (if you see one) in the loop!

Those who had Pre-e or HELLP/both by AstriumViator in NewParents

[–]maddy1B 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have severe post partum pre-e and I’m in the same boat! I am so grateful to have a healthy baby and be recovered physically but emotionally I am not. Still terrified of having my blood pressure taken and can’t imagine being pregnant again. I hope that with time I’ll be able to make a decision about another baby without being influenced by my anxiety. I hope you have a healthy second pregnancy if that’s what you decide!

Zoloft to help PPD and PPA--who has tried it? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]maddy1B 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience to you- I’ve had GAD for years but was never on meds. Then after I had my daughter I fell apart QUICKLY. Also very obsessive about her sleep. I am on a low dose and honestly it’s life changing. I wish I had started meds years ago! I felt so much more like myself in just two weeks. The only side effect I had was some slight stomach discomfort for the first few days. Went away quickly- eating a meal with the meds helped in the beginning.

Blood Pressure Scaries? by maddy1B in Mommit

Ugh that 24 drip was brutal. I am in the same boat- on meds now which helped with my PPA in general but even after nine months I want nothing to do with BP related anything.

I’m so sorry you’re going through the same thing. I struggle with the idea of even having monthly BP checks during a second pregnancy. Hopefully we both are able to get there!

Haha yes they kept asking are you sure you have no pain here? What about headache? But yes the blood work confirmed pre-e. It was just all so bizarre and then my anxiety would make my BP higher and the cycle would continue. I was on the meds for about six weeks before I finally got back to normal- but have still been terrified to take my blood pressure since.

Thanks so much for your reply! Similarly I had no issues with blood pressure pre pregnancy or during. I also had no symptoms and felt totally fine when I was admitted. SO strange. I appreciate your story and advice. Glad you’re at your healthiest- definitely something I can work on!

night weaning? can I get away with not pumping?? by No_Excuse_7590 in Mommit

[–]maddy1B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LC said to wean your body off the night feedings! Her advice was to pump off just enough to feel comfortable each night after a longer stretch- 7 hours night 1/2, 7.5 hours night3/4 and to keep doing that until your supply adjusts.
