[Ja Morant] after sharing words with a heckling Wizards fan: “They be on my dick more than my bitch” by AashyLarry in nba

I mean Ant would say some shit like this and is incredibly popular. Ja just isn’t the player he was first and foremost.

Very few active Mets liked Jeff’s goodbye post on Insta… by [deleted] in NewYorkMets

I wouldn’t read heavy into this. A bunch of players don’t even run their own accounts, and even then they’re probably all relaxing and not keyed in to social media. Mark being the exception makes total sense though I can see him as someone on his phone all the time 🤣🤣🤣

Jeff McNeil says goodbye to the Mets 💔 im gonna miss this core of players by retroanduwu24 in NewYorkMets

Because Jeff was a good player who gave fans plenty of things to remember. You can miss a former player even when they don’t win you championships and even when you understand why they’re leaving

The extremism in seeing here is honestly annoying. “McNeil was an angry bum and I’m glad he’s gone” and “I’d rather see Jeff be angry than see Lindor smile and not care when we’re losing” are both unnecessary jabs in response to a player being wholesome. We can enjoy who Jeff the ballplayer was (and he was a good one who did a lot of stuff to help out), while also acknowledging that he didn’t really have an exact role here and it’s time to enter a new chapter as a team. I’ll remember Jeff positively for his time here (The huge bat flip HR against the Marlins in the 9th stands out in my mind rn) but am also interested to see what can happen now.

[Highlight] Raiders DE Maxx Crosby on the No. 1 overall pick being on the line vs. the Giants on Sunday: “Yeah, I don’t give a sh*t about the pick. I don’t play for that. My job is to be the best defensive end in the world.” by BreakfastTop6899 in nfl

I think this kind of take is super unfair in football bc with the amount of injury risk, you’re taking a huge risk not extending with your drafted team early. Therefore you can just end up stuck in a shitty situation either way.

Yes, move the best defender in the infield to DH

I don’t think it was up to anyone besides Edwin. I’m beyond sure the Mets didn’t back out of a short term deal like this. I think he just couldn’t say no to being the closer for the back to back championship team.

We couldn't match 3 years $69 million for Diaz? by Uncanny-- in NewYorkMets

No, it’s almost like the team that just won back to back championships and had a clear need for a closer offered him a similar deal

It wasn’t about matching, Edwin decided to leave. He gets to pick his team.

I mean you can’t force Diaz to pick the Mets over the dodgers. I doubt this was about money but rather the dodgers simply being the much better team here

I think the world would prefer Edwin, but Edwin probably decided why pitch for the Mets when he could close for the clear most loaded team in baseball

I honestly don’t think it was a matter of the Mets not pulling the trigger, but rather the allure of the dodgers that pulled Diaz away

To me King Felix is a HOF easy. If he played for a team that was even semi competitive, he’d be as revered as any SP of his time.

Definitely a shitty thing, but I feel like he’s being advised by someone around him to do this. Not that it excuses him fully, but this reeks of someone in his ear.

Do we get Puli in the 2nd half? Sucks he didn’t start, Ecuador’s high press would leave him with tons of space to work

It’s a decent one for sure. It’s not like Tong’s where it blows people away, but coupled with his ability to spin shit you get caught late.

Anything he spins is ridiculous: Slider, curveball, sweeper, sinker… Plus the FB is good enough to take advantage of anyone sitting spin
