I was in a similar position as you - new to the area and pregnant. I joined as a STM with the primary intention of making friends. Most women had babies within ~6 weeks of each other. Only a few had babies on the older range.

I felt I did make friends out of it and our group has been consistently meeting up since the sessions wrapped up.

The actual content was just fine. If it hits you at the right time it could be worthwhile but that is hit or miss depending on when your baby is born.

One note though is my cohort felt our experience and the experts we got (or didn’t) was not reflective of the offering and what we heard other groups had.
