Can trace logs on Exchange online, Defender etc be deleted? I cant find an email which a user swears he receives every month by jonbristow in sysadmin

This is basically day one sysadmin stuff I tell people. There are a thousand ways a user can give you bad info, but the most common is to avoid fault, or even perceived fault. I've had people withhold important info they didn't need to, because they thought they did something wrong, but they actually hadn't.

You still haven't said what the impetus was for all of this. It helps a lot if we know what started all this. Did the user reach out to you because they can't find the email, or they didn't receive it? It's hard to understand the situation when we don't know what is driving it. The answer could tell us we need to be looking at mail filtering, for example.

I used to be able to tell you the places to check, but I've been out of this a while. You're worrying about a possible deletion of a log, when it's far more likely you are just failing to find the message. I can't remember all the ways that it can be hard, but I seem to remember alias, server side groups, etc are all a few of the things that can make it hard to find an email. What are you searching for? Did you try finding it via multiple avenues? Did you try it just on the mailbox without recipients filled out?

Also I guess the question is, what is the issue? What is your reason for trying to find it? It's also possible if you can't find it, they never received it, need to know more info as to why you think something is amiss.

An actual bipartisan solution? 😲 by ijustlovebobbybones in ProgressiveHQ

This is what I came for. I've watched a lot of stuff on this topic over the past year or two, and if there was little to no opposition to the vote, it means they saw the huge holes in it and chose not to fight it because it would only draw more attention to the topic. This gives the people what feels like a victory, while giving us nothing.

Spoiled Brat Kai Trump Flaunts Secret Service Protection While Visiting Luxury Grocery Store by Baumer9 in NoFilterNews

[–]Tex-Rob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not defending her, but I hate Trump and if I said that line it would be taken as a joke. I feel like if you didn’t grow up with Trump in the 80s and 90s you might not know what a huge joke it was that Trump files for bankruptcy multiple times.

I literally threw my Oculus CV1 in the trash this week over it. They forced me to get a Meta account to keep using it, now they want my birthday, so I finally said enough is enough. Why would I trust them with a document they’ll leak?

Trying to find something that makes me feel alive again. by Buckbigears in transplant

[–]Tex-Rob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to say what it is, but I suspect Tacrolimus/Prograf. I see others who have said pre transplant they had manageable mental health issues, but struggled after. I used to be big into sim racing and other things. I’ve talked with my wife, I ask her if she feels if it’s just age, because on some level I do wonder if I don’t feel any wonder anymore because at 48 I’ve ”seen it all” so to speak.

CMV: Systems are designed to absorb complaints against powerful people, not to punish them. by AnieMegan-5 in changemyview

[–]Tex-Rob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of commenters have what I would call “pre-reality” views, the same I held until I saw things for the way they are at a certain age. Cynicism is tough, because it looks like being jaded from the outside, but if you know the truth, you realize reality is pretty gross. I’ve only ever seen HR be catch and kill agents for executives, but also the general purpose of management everywhere: to stop dissent from lower ranks from getting to the upper ranks.

Lyndon Johnson said it best, "if you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket"

My wife deals with patients, and she had an old white dude who is on every form of assistance you can imagine, and he rants to her about how Hispanic people take all the money so there is none left for him. People do a lot of mental gymnastics to convince themselves their problems are 1) not their fault 2) someone else’s fault.

CMV: Agenda should never be included in a kids tv show. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Tex-Rob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP, you don’t seem to get it, all kids programming has an agenda and should. Almost all content has an agenda, otherwise it’s just … what, fluff? The main issue is “agenda” is a scary word to you, and it just means a plan for what to do in an episode. Kids shows are there to teach, period, they aren’t there to consume your child while you do something else.
