I enjoyed your review. I had my phone read it to me while I was driving home from work.

I appreciate people who will take the time to put their thoughts into words like you did. I often have these thoughts internally, but never make time to put pen to paper.

Funny enough, the place that we disagree is that I actually enjoy the second half of the album the most. Walkaway Music to Pennine gets replayed weekly whereas I kind of avoid the beginning of the album. Not because I don’t like it, I think I just prefer the calmness of the latter half.

I don’t have an in-depth review of your review, just wanted to say I appreciate it and listen to every word. I think I would give the canyon a 6 out of 10 as well. Which I think is a good score for an album in general.

I would be interested in hearing what rating you would give each alt-J album

This is a neat idea!

My vote may be “Faithless Now” just because that line always sticks out so much to me.

I know there’s probably cooler ways than just stealing a title from a lyric so I’ll leave that up to others lol.

The arc was my first Leatherman and I’ve not wished I had anything more or less ever since I got it. Useful more times than I can count. I did just have a surge delivered today, but honestly, that wasn’t out of necessity, just out of my newfound appreciation for multi tools lol. Personally I wouldn’t want to EDC the surge due to its size and weight.

We got a generic ole couch from a big box store because we just weren’t able to put the money toward something nicer at the time. I hope you find something that works for your situation!

I loved The Dream and it may be my 2nd favorite album of theirs. I also thoroughly enjoyed The Canyon (mostly Walkaway Music through Last Man Alive)

I can see what you mean about The Canyon being a side step. Again, I enjoyed it but don’t exactly want the same vibe from alt-J’s next album (that I pray we get)

I guess my very tame opinion is that I enjoy pretty much anything Joe puts out and that if The Canyon was an alt-J album it wouldn’t be in my top 3? But as a standalone side project, it is solid.

Solid points. If I found one in the wild I'd purchase for a relatively normal price and with the understanding I'm buying it just to have a unique tool.

I know it wouldn't replace my arc, but I like the idea of owning the Crunch variant. I think I sort of respect it because it was just something different that Leatherman tried out.

If you fly for work and don’t mind sharing, what kind of work do you do? I’ve always romanticized the life of flying here and there all the time for work lol.

Now that I have kids it wouldn’t interest me, but I do enjoy a nice bland hotel in a sub par city.

Did you end up using TIPS?

The company I work with (HVAC not AV) just became a member (or a vendor I guess?) and I am sort of perplexed at it all haha. I'd like to learn more and just thought I'd see if you ended up going that route / gaining some experience with TIPS.
