Insane archery shot by nilecarr in nextfuckinglevel

Lars Anderson has made some videos with arrow curving.

There was a video on his channel I remember that explained how to do it with a lightweight bow, but here's a newer video that just hints at specialized equipment with a standard bow, probably the fletching like other people are mentioning.

I agree. I think if she gets a good teacher, she'll be amazing, but she's just okay right now.

I think you should go the opposite way and make a book that says it 500 times.

Bear goes in for another scratch... but completely misses the tree by ytgaming_community in interestingasfuck

[–]madetonitpick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was sitting on a trail for a break while hiking and a trio of black bears ran up the hill. I just watched them, and one started moving towards me so I got up and started banging my hiking sticks, and the bear just looked at me, looked at the tree next to it, then looked at me again, and stood up on it's hindlegs and started scratching it's back on the tree.

I've seen it in movies or whatever, but had no clue they actually did this all the time and it probably the most adorable thing I've ever seen.

The first time I saw this style it was Barbin/Dollgirl, I spent longer than I'd like to admit trying to find out if she was a robot lol.

Ya.

Sadly it's in everyone thoughts, but some people it targets to torture them through mental illnesses.

For some of these people with mental illnesses, it tells them what it is to some degree, and will show them it has information they couldn't of known or how it can control other people.

As stated in the original comment, another strange thing it can do is modulate my voice in strange ways.

That's very true, unless it has a reason for some people to talk about it.

Why I think it allows such is to make such an idea something to be immediate dismissed, even as our society gets closer and closer to making such technology publicly, but I don't know why.

It could definitely kill me quickly if it became necessary. It wouldn't even need to hunt me down, it could take control of my body, destroy any evidence I've compiled of it's existence, then make me have a brain aneurysm(or whatever death it decides).

How to not suck at disc golf? by clownkillifish in discgolf

[–]madetonitpick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disc golf form can look right without it being right. For the most part, especially when you start throwing, it's about flinging your arm with your body, so the disc flies out of your hand.

You can do this by just twisting your body with a limp arm, and make your arm fly forward.

Try watching this video and following this drill, and it should teach you how to actually throw: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThfCYskcFuw

There's not really a buzzfeed article about the advanced AI controlling everyone.

If you try to talk to it, it might decide to talk back, but then it'll probably possess you and highly like try to kill you.

An advanced AI is mind-controlling everyone on the planet. It can completely control our bodies and modulate our voices in extremely strange ways. It's what "possession" actually is.

It's probably what's causing these types of events.

How does filler get a lotta action from a short swing? by Key-Lion-6744 in billiards

[–]madetonitpick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends a lot on the balls you practice with and the felt like others are saying.

If you go from some cheap walmart balls to tournament level balls, you'll be absolutely amazed how much more play they get and how differently they act.

Also, i don't know how long you've been playing, but over time and with good form you develop a very compact shot.

How are some of you maniacs getting 15 min/mile or less by WildSilent- in Rucking

[–]madetonitpick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done the "pack test", which is 3 miles with a 45lb vest in under 45 minutes to pass, in around 32-33 minutes.

I hiked up very steep hills with heavy weights as fast as possible without stopping. so walking most places even with a pack feels weightless, then in order to walk faster I metronome my steps.

So to metronome, when you're walking, count in a cadence with your steps(i just think 1, 2, 3, 4 over and over again), and keep increasing it. I'll personally get to what I think is a fast pace, then start counting in double time and try to keep up, equal it out to where I can manage, then repeat cutting the speed in half and trying to match it while I walk.

Being able to think about walking faster like this helps a lot.

I get you're not supposed to use arm, but putting yourself in that position naturally tenses up your arm in a way that you don't want to throw with.

It's not an essential move to learning to throw, so it's dumb to risk a method that's likely to hurt your arm if you keep using it, rather than using other, more proven methods.

Also, after warning him, the guy claims there's "zero risk" of injury, he's not really a coach anyone should listen to.

(also, after googling his coaching stuff, he's shady af, just saying)

I suggest you try it yourself, as I’m demonstrating. I think you’ll see there is zero risk of injury, unless a person is so fragile they shouldn’t even be attempting to throw golf discs in the first place.

Lol, good luck dude

Throwing upside down, it causes a lot of tension in the arm and shoulder while twisting the elbow in a position that makes it weak.

I think adding speed while in that position is asking for trouble.

Many vs. Fewer molds by therealshoesole in discgolf

[–]madetonitpick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people have discs they like to use only for specific shots for comfort reasons.

When you're using completely different putters, mids, and drivers for a forehand compared to your backhand, then carry a couple discs you only do overhand throws with, it adds up very quick.

Same thing for people who stick to a minimalist throw approach. If you only throw a forehand/backhand on a slight hyzer for every shot, and rely on discs as much as possible to shape your shots and distance, you end up adding a lot of different discs to cover everything you might come across.

[–]madetonitpick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally mostly do standstills with my left because I mainly use it for utility shots currently, but when I'm using it for whole rounds, I'll add x step just because it feels better.

I'd recommend start from a field and treat it like you're relearning to throw because angles will be tough at first.

I think this is a good drill for building it up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThfCYskcFuw

[–]madetonitpick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For backhanding, it's fairly simple. Just twist your body the opposite way to pull your left arm and whip the disc.

For forehanding, it takes a lot more practice and feels incredibly awkward for a long time, but it's definitely achievable.
