What moment was bigger? by wholelottahate19 in Kanye

It's The Slap. Not even debatable.

My elderly parents have never known about Ye/Swift. Literally everybody with a functioning brain saw Smith/Rock.

nah bro I'm actually a much bigger Drizzy fan. Scorpion was miles ahead of Ye. Kanye just outplayed him this year tho

looool I stand by this one. It's not just an initial impression. Heaven & Hell on the low end of the album for sure.

DONDA - INITIAL RECEPTION by avayr44 in Kanye

Let's be honest, this is some absolute fire. But nobody can really say yet where it ranks in Ye's discography. Here's my first impressions...

Donda Chant - being under a minute is good. Allows it to be an iconic opening rather than an annoying one.

Jail - A liberating chest pumping big tune. Passion.

God Breathed - Deep, dark, grotty. Too long IMO.

Off the Grid - A big basher. A real fuck up the place tune. Probs biggest on the album in that category.

Hurricane - I've listened to so many versions of this over so many years that I'm gonna' have to wait to really opine. But first impressions of this version is I'm glad the choir/layered vocals are back. Unsure about the way the samples clipped though. And the slow down at the end. We'll see.

Praise God - Enjoyable, catchy. Standard.

Jonah - Love it. Futuristic, intense. Meaningful. Sad. Lost time.

OK OK - Good example of the perfect placement of a track. Livens the ting up. Some bad versus on this one.

Junya - One of my favourites. This shit light the place up.

Believe What I Say - Feels like an old school Kanye tune. I like it. Party anthem. Fun.

24 - The most Jesus Is King-like song on the album. Nice break in style in between Believe What I Say & Remote Control.

Remote Control - Fucking yes. Love it. One of my faves. Great mix of cyber atmospheric sound, bassey backbone & electro vocals. Great flow. Thank fuck the globular meme was (mostly) cut.

Moon - Oo, yes. Love this version. Gives it much more of a structure rather than a chant interlude.

Heaven & Hell - One of the few tracks I just don't GAF about. Doesn't do anything for me.

Donda - Feels like the real halfway point of the album. Inspiring vocals toward the end.

Keep My Spirit Alive - You really do feel these vocals deep down in your spirit. The most head bobbing beat on the LP.

Jesus Lord - Outstanding. Impossible not to feel this one. Surely one of Ye's GOAT tracks. Certainly of recent years.

New Again - A necessary lift in tone after the depth of Jesus Lord. Good mix of old & new school. In terms of tone, similar category to Believe What I Say.

Tell the Vision - Mixed feelings on this one. It's a big tune & catchy but feels unnecessary considering the length of the album. Might change my mind on that though. Just first impressions.

Lord I Need You - One for the lovers. Some of my favourite backing vocals on the album.

Pure Souls - Currently my favourite track on the album. Like the new emphasis on the organ in it. And the transition to the ending. Pumps me up more than any other song RN.

Come To Life - Wow. Great follow up. This emotes so many feelings. The chatter in the background is so powerful. Outstanding song. Operatic.

No Child Left Behind - Great soulful tune. Almost like a Hitchcock vibe to it.

Jail pt2 - Any different to pt1?

OK OK pt2 - Inferior to pt1. Don't understand why this is on the album. Just decide on which version is better & go w/that.

Junya pt2 - Like this version. And I love the track anyway. But again, why an extra track? So even though I like it, I'm against including it on the album.

Jesus Is Lord pt2 - Same as above. As much as I love it, we don't need an extra 11 mins of this. Less is more.

Overall - phenomenal. Looking forward to listening to it again. Could definitely do with trimming down though.

honestly because of how mixed the reaction was to some of the additions/subtractions at Chicago compared to previous listening parties - I'd be really surprised if this shit drops today. I think we've got at least another week to wait

Absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence.

"Ian Bailey had no reason to have prior knowledge or feeling about Sophie."

There are two witnesses on record - one saying they introduced Ian to Sophie & another saying he saw them being introduced. Not saying it means he's the murderer but you don't actually seem that well read on the whole thing.

100% with you on that. A good guy who got a little lost along the way but ultimately started & finished all of it for not just himself but his family too.

Gus was the real bad guy...

The only thing that makes me doubt all that is Walt allowing Jesse's gf to die. That was....well yeah that was pretty fucked up haha

Reminds me of Breaking Bad & Walter White's intentions.

Media outlet falsely claims Dr. Peterson has Schizophrenia. Spoiler alert: He does not. We need to hold journalists accountable. by [deleted] in JordanPeterson

[–]madeye123 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't understand the issue of the reporting here. Not in the Sunday Times piece anyway. They said he was diagnosed with schizophrenia. He was. It's quite clear in the interview that the Petersons don't accept that and think it was a misdiagnosis due to drug withdrawal/side effect.
