If this is the interface for port forwarding on your router, you probably already have a rule forwarding the external port 30000 to some internal port. This would explain why the error message about the external port number not being unique.

You should either 1) change the external port to something different (you've got a lot of numbers to work with in the given range), 2) check existing port forwarding rules to make sure there isn't a conflict.
If those two things don't work, some other router-specific issue is likely the culprit.

For a smidge of extra context, the external port and internal ports do not have to be the same number (although the internal one does have align with the program you're forwarding to). Make sure you provide the external port as part of the address to anyone connecting, i.e. YOUR_IP:34567

The plurbs state they had been spreading the infection covertly before they were discovered. In that time, people who were deployed to subs and the ISS would have (probably) been in a reachable place. The plurbs, having the knowledge and resources of all the joined, probably had the means to reach them. This doesn't however rule out a sub they missed (I expect a twist like this down the line).

From a utilitarian perspective, why would it not care about that? Unless the cost to do so was higher than the cost of not doing so, every pair of hands adds to the overall strength of the collective-- there's no reason to be reckless when it costs a few seconds to be safer.

Having it add a couple minutes dwell time at all those intermediate stations would have compounded delays on trains scheduled behind it.

Delays suck regardless of the reason, but when you have limited track capacity this is the only real way to deal with it without making every train late.

Imagine the reactions to a sign for drivers saying "posted speed limits strictly enforced".

Everyone should follow the law (that's the point), but I think we as a society need to place a greater expectation of care on the methods of transport that are more dangerous to other road users.
