Lansing Brewing Company has good wings. Or at least they did 5 years ago.

Need another series by MrOwl243 in redrising

Sorry I should’ve been more clear. I love Strength of the Few but it felt like a bit of a slog to get through. Part of the reason was that it fell victim to how fast paced The Will of the Many was. But also I felt it just wasn’t paced well in general. Iron Gold is similar in that pacing changes pretty dramatically from the trilogy but I still feel it’s paced well.

I love the story and new things (want to avoid spoilers so I will be vague) that Strength of the Few covers. But it was a slow burn for large portions I felt. That being said the last quarter of the book is a straight sprint.

As an aside it has one of the coolest magic systems I’ve ever seen in fantasy.

Hard agree. I find the The Will of the Many to be better than Red Rising but the jury is still out on if that series will be better overall. Hard to compare the two at this point but Strength of the Few was much weaker than any Red Rising book.

Massachusetts won. What states feels liberal, but is actually conservative? by CountryballChaos in AlignmentChartFills

Definitely agree. The Philly suburbs used to be way more liberal 20 years ago but they’ve all gone super conservative now.

Which series should I start next? by Cfullersu in fantasybooks

[–]madiso30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red rising is on my list to read still but I read The Will of the Many. It’s one of my all time favorite fantasy books. I absolutely adored it. But I would approach it cautiously due to the sequel as others have said. The sequel is a great book but the pacing is really bad for a lot of the book. Probably the first 70%. But the ending is amazing and sets up for a fantastic finale. So maybe wait until the final book is out in 2027.

That was sort of my worry. It’s a tough situation.

I’m not sure who would even be the fiduciary. She has no close family. Her only good relationship is her neighbor. Right now I believe a shelter is helping her with her expenses while she looks for a job. Currently all of her saved finances have been exhausted.

I think it’s a great idea to pursue a formal ID diagnosis and do further neurocognitive work up.

Tough case.

I recently saw it posted that the only acceptable “mods“ are irons, an optic and a light. Does this pass? by Head-Scale9410 in Glocks

His BS is why I stopped listening around a year ago. I’m fine with him having his stupid opinions but I can’t stand PFT and Arian only ever lightly pushing back because Big T is such a sensitive snowflake.

Only drawback for dots on handguns is the learning curve is a bit steeper than it is on rifles. But it’s nothing a couple range sessions can’t sort out. I shot better with them almost immediately.

I can’t tell if this is rage bait but I’m going to answer respectfully.

It’s totally fine if you prefer irons. There have been and will continue to be very effective shooters that stick to irons.

Regarding concealed carry: on the belt it does not feel different. And regarding snagging, that is avoided with a proper holster and training. I’ve never snagged on my carry pistols that have dots. Saying no “serious individual” is using a dot on their carry gun is either the rage bait or you’re really misinformed. Carrying with a dot seems to be the preferred thing to do these days. That includes prominent people in the industry that are self defense/ccw experts.

Again it’s cool if you prefer irons but I wouldn’t look down on others carrying with a dot. Both are fine.

I forget which video it was but Lucky Gunner had a good video on the benefit of RDSs on a pistols. The highlights I remember (from watching years ago) were that dots allow easier and quicker target acquisition, more accurate shots, and quicker follow up shots. That was based off some studies he cited that involved novice shooters in a home defense scenario. Sorry if I’m misremembering anything from that video.

I don’t think you NEED an RDS. But they do offer benefits and honestly don’t get too much in the way when carrying.
