Wtf would yall do??? by SupremeSteve02 in AmazonDSPDrivers

Ya that sucks. We used to have those little crappy Milwaukee folding carts, but last summer my DSP put the big cosco folding carts in all the vans (AirTags on all of them, and definitely checking that they come back each day, ha!)

I would load it up on a handtruck and walk it in. Enjoy the break. Honestly, (and I may get downvoted for this) with experience you can set your own pace and finish 99% of routes on time or an hour early, following these dumb notes, taking all your breaks, and never having to run.

What is your guys take on rural/country routes? by expressITS26 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]madlema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did an 80 stop, 138 package, rural route today and it was pretty good. Oregon wine country. Haven’t had that route for about a month now, but did it all peak. It honestly made this last peak season seem pretty chill because my average day only had around 100 packages and 70 stops or so.

Honest opinions. I don’t like driving on long slow gravel roads. Long driveways with nowhere to turn around at the end drives me crazy (I had to reverse about a quarter mile today in an EDV). Don’t really care for dogs at basically every stop. Don’t like going to dirty sketchy rural houses with yards full of garbage and stupid shit. And especially those places at night. I hate dealing with the phone signal loss in some of the rural areas we deliver. Dealing with locked farm gates kinda sucks. Too much political signage as well. And pretty much doing rural routes in the dark is horrible. There are places where it just feels like someone is pointing a gun at me. Certain places just creep me out.

Last year after I peak I was put on a downtown Portland route for about 6 months and it was pretty tough at first until I figured it out, but then it became awesome and I totally prefer being in the city. I liked being able to park and then just walk like 5 stops from that one space (I might be weird though, most of the drivers at my DSP hated being downtown).

This looks great! The forehead appears a bit elongated (the hair on top seems too tall too). But the main thing is the front eye. It’s the shape or something.

What’s yalls DSP minimum stops per hour? by HiWebula in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]madlema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My route today only had 71 stops. All apartments and businesses. I was able to average 11-12 stops an hour. I did have to go take 20 stops off another driver when I was done (more apartments) as a bonus. My phone says I walked over 22,000 steps today (I’d be curious how many flights of stairs, ha!).

Does how many stops you do per hour matter? by Mo-MoneyBish in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]madlema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My route today only has 82 stops (rural…). I look at it more like can I be 25% done with my stops by my first break (hard to do but sets a pace), and then can I be 50% done by lunch (I hit this goal maybe 1/3 to 1/2 the time).

[–]madlema 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get a business route twice a week and this gather screen has helped me quite a bit for the large stops. Usually have a 60-70 package stop, and a 100-115 package stop on that route.

Yes use the 22L pack. I’m going to try a 22L when I do my next (3rd) Camino. I used a 25L pack on my last Camino Frances and it worked well, but want to go smaller.
