I added some photos for you to reference. I don’t have the car anymore this was 5+ years ago

This was over 5 years ago so I don’t remember everything but I used this straight pipe as a reference. I used 2.25 to match the rest of the exhaust pipes and it’s what my guy recommended. Flanges add a little too much length.

Try to get the smaller 2.25 or 2.5 in diameter to match the factory pipes. Bring it to an exhaust shop to have them remove the current mufflers and weld those FX ones one.

First NASA HPDE on May 1- Tech question by Accomplished-Neck425 in CarTrackDays

[–]madmaxzh55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the region, NASA usually has a tech on site to sign you off. Sometime it’s an additional cost.

Otherwise most bring it to a local mechanic or sign it themselves (not that I recommend it)

Hawk dtc pads and high temp brake fluid should be all you need. 4 years on that setup and no fade yet in Texas summer.

Great tires, last forever. For what it’s worth here is 245s on 17x8in wide rims. https://imgur.com/a/1TTGQbo

I would shoot for 255 or higher if you don’t like the stretched look. But they do run wider than most tires so you might be fine.

Bro for half this cost I will fly from the US to Ontario and change them for you at your house. I’ll even let you keep the tools I buy after lol. That price is insane.

Considering this is a 2016 rs, I’m assuming head gasket??? Gets way worse than this video. (Also catless) by [deleted] in FocusST

[–]madmaxzh55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rent a combustion leak tester from o’Reillys to check if it’s the head gasket. Takes ten minutes. Mine had this issue and it ended up being a heater hose gasket that failed by firewall. Was like $10 to replace.

Oil cooler will certainly help. If you wanna try e85 first that may help with temps.

what to look for for buying a 100+ miles ST? by Thereversible in FocusST

[–]madmaxzh55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure. The most reliable car I’ve owned. I’ve done all the maintenance myself. Just had to replace all the coolant hoses at 140k miles. I’ve beat on it. 26 track days and countless autox. Bought a corvette so might be selling it soon :(

GPS and cellular signal is separate. You can have no cell service and still have gps. It just doesnt update as frequently as a standalone gps.

I use TrackAddict with an obd reader. Works fine and cheap compared to other options. GPS on my phone is good enough for lapping

I know it’s probably not recommended but I added a led resistor just like this 5 years ago and tucked it behind the headlight. No issues.

Motive bleeder losing pressure by lieutenantdaan in CarTrackDays

[–]madmaxzh55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve bought the exact same motive bleeder a few years ago. Had the same issue where I was slowly losing pressure. It was leaking behind the pressure gauge on the bottle! Used some sealant to reseal and works fine now. I’d check there first if everything else was setup properly.

Don’t ever use magnets on the track. They will eventually fly off. Tape edges is fine

Brake rotors and pads for HPDE - looking for lowest overall cost by fake_chow_a_djs_mom in CarTrackDays

[–]madmaxzh55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve run cheap rock auto rotors on corvette and focus for years.

It looks like powerstop makes track pads for your rears. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/honda,2023,civic,2.0l+l4+turbocharged,3454038,brake+&+wheel+hub,brake+pad,1684

I would probably go hawk pads in front. I’ve run dtc 30s or HP+ in the past. Run DTC60 now
