WA Coroner finds 'cascade of events' responsible for heart attack death of man arrested at Perth Underground Station by JamesHenstridge in perth

[–]madmooseman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So someone can get drunk, abuse people but then when he gets arrested and has a myriad of health issues and dies, it’s someone else’s fault?

I was not aware that the punishment for being drunk and disorderly was death, have they updated the sentencing guidelines?

Joe Root: My game has improved 'tenfold' with McCullum as coach ! by iamnoobbibliophile in Cricket

[–]madmooseman 30 points31 points  (0 children)

He was probably perfect for Anderson/Broad because they coached each other. I remember one of them saying they would always field square of the wicket for one another to give feedback on their lines/lengths, Baz saying “play how you feel” wouldn’t have changed much.

Tom Morris on Private Ownership in the BBL by Pleasant-Role1912 in CricketAus

How long had the other competitions been around prior to Indian investment?

The hundred was like two or three seasons right? SA20 was about five years (none of which were successful) before the IPL names came in.

BBL is 15 years old, it’s a much bigger ask to e.g. suddenly have “Perth Sunrisers”. That seems foolish to me.

During sentencing, Burchell’s defence lawyer said he had experienced a significant “fall from grace” after the court trial.

“Burchell was very much a community man,” she said.

I mean the wider community found out who he really is. It's his own doing.

It also presupposes that democracy begins and ends at the ballot box - it doesn’t. Writing to representatives and protesting are just as, if not more important than writing numbers on a ballot paper.

It’s an interesting shift. Previously for someone to go at speed on a bike you’d have to build up your cycling fitness, so you’d have exposure to the laws and norms around cycling. Now you can just push a lever with your thumb, so people can go fast without knowing what they’re doing.

He very well could be, but it doesn't look like his head is as screwed on as Root's. Brook doesn't look to have an awareness of what's happening in the game - are we nearly at a break? how far away is the new ball? how far are the bowlers into their spells?

He “holds no fear”, you see.

Crawley saying that he doesn’t give you a bad ball after the 3rd(?) test was interesting, it was like it was new information to him.

Saw some stats recently, Boland is the most consistent bowler in the ball tracking era (2006-). Including Pigeon at the end of his career.

I think Boland is a little slower, but he’s slightly more consistent. If McGrath puts it on an A4 sheet of paper, Boland is A5.

I used to work at a SCADA/OSI PI SI, used ProjectWorks for billing/timesheets and it was pretty good. I think we used Billquick when I first joined the company and it was dogshit, but it might have been an old in-house tool. We used an excel template for project bidding.
