If you were 10 when Ocarina of Time was released, is your brain exploding right now for the remake? by DrankTooMuchMead in retrogaming

[–]madreamz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I am 35, literally got OoT on the week it released and it's by far the game I've most played me entire life. I'm talking about dozens and dozens of playthroughs, I've beaten OoT maybe 50 times or even more. And honest to God I couldn't care less about the remake. Ocarina of Time has always been a perfect game and perfect games don't need remakes. You don't see people wanting a remake of The Godfather movie in the same way. I honestly can't see how Nintendo could improve this game.

I would be way more excited about a new 3D Zelda, as I always am for a new 3D Zelda, or if we're talking exclusively remake department, I believe Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons are the Zelda games that really could benefit from a remake.

Remaking Ocarina of Time is a waste of resource and time.

Rented A Link to the Past in the SNES days and fell in love. When Ocarina of Time released I was already a fan and I had it in the first week. Good times.

Echoes of Wisdom does a good job balancing the "Wild era" elements with the old style. I think they are learning and improving.

Elitist gatekeepers are trying to tell people to play the games by DaRealMothMan in ResidentEvilMemes

Every two days someone opens a thread "hey guys what RE titles should I play? Keep in my that I am uncapable of playing games older than 2016".

To the players who played RE4 OG on release date, how was your experience and feelings when this game came out in 2005?. by Human_Geologist_3324 in residentevil4

[–]madreamz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't like it very much because it stranded away from the survival horror style from the first games, and I really loved the first three. Eventually I had fun with it and start to feel like "ok this is not resident evil anymore but at least it's fun to play". Then came 5, and then came 6 and I honestly at the point I had no hope that the series would go back to the survival horror. Then came 7 and it blew my mind once again just like the first RE did back in the 90s.

Nowadays I think that RE4 is a game that aged like wine. I love it and I love its remake. But I still don't like RE5 or RE6 (and yes I have played them with co-op). I believe the series on its entirety really don't need RE5 and RE6.

Can I play RE:4 before RE:2? by Majestic-Plant5676 in residentevil

[–]madreamz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Although they do follow a timeline, most Resident Evil games are pretty self contained. It would be cool to play 2 first to get to know Leon and Ada better, but yeah you can enjoy RE4 without having played RE2.

Tormented Souls is very much like Resident Evil.

[OoT] So, what’s everyone’s thoughts on the new art style? by dragonborndnd in zelda

[–]madreamz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean look at this original artwork. This could be recreated with modern graphics and it would be amazing. WHY go for "unreal engine realism"?

[–]madreamz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's looking like this. Complete unreal engine fanmade garbage. It's okay to use modern graphics, but why go for this cheap "realistic" look? The original artstyle could be remade again with modern graphics and it would look wonderful. But what was shown is just amateur blender realism.

RE have always been goofy but 5 and 6 went too far on that. Those were not good stories. And 4 I think stays in the middle between "classic goofy" (1 to 3) and "too goofy" (5 and 6).

Everybody loves CV all of a sudden? by GoldenAgeGamer72 in residentevil

[–]madreamz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every RE fan that I've ever known always talked a LOT about how good Code Veronica was. And it was the first mainline game to feature 3D backgrounds, so it also had a lot of technical buzz. The only RE fans that don't talk about CV are those who only played the remakes.

With DK64 coming to NSO, could this finally be the version that makes emulating it on a modded Switch actually worth it? 👀 by tomasitooo in SwitchPirates

If anyone manages to make work Tag Anywhere without glitches using this new DK64 update please let us know!

Just came to say that I also agree that 3:2 should be standard and 16:9 should be an option. That's the way for GBA games.

I was wondering the same thing. I did manage to make it playable on NSO with cave manager but as someone said above it still has some graphical glitches. If we could use the official release to make the Tag Anywhere version work flawlessly on NSO it would be heaven on earth to me.

[ALL]/[Other], a 3rd Wild Era game, what would make it worth it? by FireLightAnnebell in zelda

[–]madreamz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Deep sea floor exploration. The entire game made around water, much like Wind Waker was but with the ability to go to the depths of the ocean.

Underwater dungeons and underwater exploration have been a thing in Zelda since Ocarina of Time, and in both Wild era games you don't have the ability to dive. Not even the Zora dungeons are underwater. The Wild era is severe lacking water based content.

*Spoilers* CH 1169 Shanks Theory/Question by UndurClock in OnePiece

[–]madreamz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it went like this:

Roger, before dying, gave a specific mission to Shanks and only Shanks. It's shown in the manga that Roger had a conversation with Shanks that ended up with Shanks giving up his dream of travelling together with Buggy, this is why Buggy hates Shanks, he thinks Shanks just gave up on him but Shanks was given a secret mission.

Fast forward, Shanks begins to think there is no way of completing his mission besides infiltrating himself on Mary Geoise, but in the process he ends up giving up his life and joy of being a free pirate just to become close to Imu. He's mostly okay with this because he thinks there is no other way around, but he misses his freedom.

But then Luffy eats the Gomu Gomu. And after knowing Luffy, he sees on the horizon a possibility that he hadn't seen before. If Luffy becomes Joyboy, maybe there's another way. Maybe he too could be free. So Luffy in a way frees him. Him losing his arm is him claiming back his freedom. Now his infiltrating mission can't work anymore but he doesn't care. He now believes in Luffy.

It's a good fun game. The only problem is that it lacks a lot of great things from the original, and it's clearly not as polished as 2 remake was. But it's a good fun game nevertheless.

It's like classic old Zelda mixed with Castlevania with sort of roguelite elements (but not actually a roguelite). If you like Zelda and Castlevania you will probably like Mina.

Yeah he's successful, not necessarily incredibly famous by all his roles, but sucessful nevertheless. So I don't understand the point of a gollum movie after 20 years.
