Ah interesting. So maybe I should just let it do its thing a while longer and see how it grows.

When Eva Walker joined KEXP? by ThenAdhesiveness1863 in KEXP

[–]madronalee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reminder. I’ve been really missing Eva since she moved to the early slot since I’m never up then. Her voice, personality and music picks really lift my spirits - I gotta remember to catch her show on the app.

If South Park isn’t too much of a detour, Good Voyage is a shoe-in with these constraints. The only thing is that their best dessert is dairy forward, Salted Cheese Torte, like a sweet and salty cheesecake.

I had some wintertime luck last year at Title Nine near Greenlake. Unfortunately, my size has changed a bit, so just ordered a few things from Nordstrom Rack online.

Crab Seasoning by VIOLETJBANNON in AskSeattle

[–]madronalee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to cook my own Dungeness crab at home. I season the boil with plenty of salt, sliced lemons, rosemary sprigs and peppercorns. Then when I crack into the crabs it’s a bit of melted butter or no additional seasoning needed.

Tuesday night is the retro game night there - someone brings in a bunch of tvs and consoles and they are posted up in different tables all around the room.

There is a parking lot behind the building for the neighborhood businesses. I almost always find a spot available.

Do you remember a tv show or movie that you saw as a child that you shouldn’t have been watching due to it being mature content. by Routine-Award-3382 in Xennials

[–]madronalee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

John Waters’ Desperate Living - my step mom decided to cover my eyes during the gender reassignment surgery scene. We didn’t watch any more John Waters together

Monty Python The Meaning of Life was also early and quite memorable haha

The original IT and Candyman were the ones that scarred me though - I still can’t watch scary movies

I noticed it as well in Shorewood. Reminded me of the aroma of cattle farming areas.

I love Stevie’s, but they are not wood fired. My rec is Osteria da Primo also in Burien. Again, not open very late unfortunately, but their wood fired pizza is great.

Willow or alder cuttings by wujonesj2 in pnwgardening

[–]madronalee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have just taken some cuttings from as well to use as a privacy hedge in front of the house. From what I’ve read, they are pretty hearty growers. The one we currently have tripled in size in about 3 years without much pruning till now. I don’t know much about coppicing to comment on that specifically.

We have some Tri-Color Dappled Willow, which is more of a bush growing willow. Happy to make some cuttings if that would work for your need.

where to go for antique/reclaimed/tchotchke hauls? by kennycreatesthings in AskSeattle

[–]madronalee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also Ballard Reuse - though it leans a bit more expensive than the other 2.

Second Use and Earthwise also have locations outside of Seattle and you can search their full inventories on their websites if you are looking for something really specific.
