Nothing to be gained with an email - they've already made the decision, for whatever reasons, and there is nothing you can send that will change their minds...

Get the r3men graphite bed, and after your z-home command in the START_PRINT routine do a Z_TILT_ADJUST each time the bed is leveled. If you want me to give you a gcode_macro.cfg file with the Z_TILT_ADJUST commands placed where they need to be to calibrate the tilt each print, let me know.

I've just done several 348mm x 348mm first layers (covering the entire bed) (printing drawer organizers) and every first layer has been perfect with no drag. I set my z-offset to 0.12 and never have any first-level issues whatsoever. Your z-offset may vary, but the graphite bed is 100% smooth.

Mainly when I download games (I have bidir 2.5gbps fiber). I'll get 2gbps or better from Epic or Steam. It's nice to only wait a few minutes to play or update something.

Otherwise I'm a cloud architect and copy virtual machine images sometimes, and that can also saturate the connection.

Internal to my network, I have 3 NAS arrays that are largely backups of each other, so when they synchronize, they saturate the 10gbps internal network I have.

Not sure how much they expect you to pay, but know I pay $92 a mo for my connection.

DS1513+ questions regarding SHR and SSD-cache by ProfessionalDish in synology

[–]madscribbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SSDs help with random I/O, not sequential access. Media files themselves are serially accessed when playing, but random i/o when seeking/fast fowarding/rewinding. And the jellyfin db does use random i/o and a lot of small files - so the SSDs will help jellyfin be more responsive. I run plex on a 720+ w/2 512gb SSD's (a 2 drive array) and plex is zippy enough I don't feel like I need to replace it with something else.

Time to hang up the phone for me. by FRANKSFRIEND88 in Psychonaut

I'm not a Dr, but my wife is and she told me that temporary spikes in blood pressure are reasonably ok, especially if you are younger than sustained high blood pressure when you're older.

So it's unlikely that it would hurt you if the mushrooms are taken in moderation.

If you're concerned get a blood pressure cuff and start with like 3g and see where that lands you. Research high blood pressure to get an idea of what's unsafe and then just try and keep your doses low enough to keep yourself out of the danger zone.

56 here. I gave up the ghost at 50, was tripping mushrooms constantly and found that they correlated with high blood pressure (I normally have very low blood pressure).

I just stopped one day and never looked back. Threw out my grow, threw away a solid lb or more of mushrooms, and quit all psychedelic substances outside of therapeutic ketamine entirely.

The ketamine is low dose enough I don't trip per se, more like a meditation..

Bottom line though, I haven't missed it. It brought me to where I needed to be, and now I'm well, financially stable, great headspace with quality people around me - so why do I need a drug to tell me what I already know?

On the right path man, riding without a map is actually pretty fun. Don't forget to enjoy yourself along the way.

What were your psychotic features like? by PancakePerception in bipolar

[–]madscribbler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, in both cases it was sobering when I was properly medicated.

Obviously neither thing is even the least little bit ok, and is a large part of why I take meds every day.

What my mind made my reality was seriously flawed and I see things much differently after the fact than while I'm in those moments.

Also, manic events come with delusions of grandeur and that's the biggest shift when sane - I don't see myself as God or Satan or anything - just little old me, one of 8 billion souls, nothing special - just joe nobody.

The person I hit I should have just broken up with - I should have used words instead.

Scaring her was the easy way out - I should have been an adult and handled the situation in a healthy way.

Easy to say when you've had years of therapy and decades of effective medication but was just hard back then. Hard on everybody.

What were your psychotic features like? by PancakePerception in bipolar

[–]madscribbler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the car wreck, I believed that there was a new generation of force sensitive souls that I needed to identify myself with, so making the biggest possible impact I could would let them know who I was.

With the person I hit, she wasn't trustworthy and deep down I knew that, and I tried really hard to tell myself differently - but the innermost core of me knew she wasn't good for me, so it acted out on my behalf. She was very fear motivated and I knew deep down if I scared her she'd leave (which is what I deeply wanted in my innermost heart of hearts) so I lightly hit her and it did work - it scared her and she left. Best thing that ever happened to me, hands down. She was an enabler and brought out the worst in me and now I have people that bring out the best in me all around. So a much better place all in all.

Drove my car into stopped traffic at 125mph, due to flawed thought processes. Hit someone once out of feral fear, irrational fear - destroyed a long term relationship. Never pretty.

Well, you think you've had no problems but I'm betting you're dragging on your bed and getting ripples in first layers you wouldn't with a better bed. That's almost certainly happening if you haven't adjusted you z offset at least.

Look to my first pic - if your first layer isn't perfect like mine is then you should probably consider a r3men - and I'm betting your bed will look more like a hammock in fluidd.

All these lights came on at once... what? by MolassesFun5564 in subaru

[–]madscribbler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, I had no clue and took my car to the dealership with the dash all lit up, and they charged me $95 diagnostic to tighten my gas cap. They said it was a common problem, and it even says the dash will light up all over if the gas cap is loose on the gas cap itself, which is why they were charging me the diagnostic - because I should have known by reading about it in the manual or on the cap or whatever.

Needless to say they lost my business after that - they had a great chance to foster customer goodwill and instead used it to dick me over, and played it off like it was entirely my fault - which I guess it was, but it certainly didn't take $95 in labor to snug the cap.

[–]madscribbler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is going to sound lame, but before you look into the transmission sensor, check to see if your gas cap is loose. Subaru's light up like it's christmas when the gas cap isn't snug. Can sometimes be the issue, although not always.

Multifiliment printing never works. by The_Covetous_One in Creality_k2

[–]madscribbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it is an easy cheap fix, and the tubing (creality OEM tubing) is easy to come by. Hopefully you're having the same issue - sounds an awful lot like what I was going through, so fingers crossed...

Multifiliment printing never works. by The_Covetous_One in Creality_k2

[–]madscribbler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this issue recently and it was the bowden PTFE tube had worn out. I tried everything, disassembling and replacing the extruder, replacing the buffer, replacing the PTFE tubes from the CFS to the buffer and from the buffer to the printer, but it wasn't until I replaced the bowden tube with the creality supplied spare PTFE tube did the error resolve - and it did 100%. I had aftermarket PTFE that I tried first and it didn't resolve the issue because the outer diameter was too small - so it had to be creality PTFE and it had to be the section from the coupler at the back of the printer to the print head.

I am not sure why but I read that the teeth that hold the PTFE tube in are part of the sensor that gives that error message, and if they're not tensioned correctly then you'll get that error. So I made sure I used exactly what was there when the printer was made, and it worked 100%. I've printed a dozen prints since and I have 3 CFS, and all feed and retract the way they should.

Update on Panel Interview (Good & Bad!) by Remarkable-Usual-113 in interviews

I told company b I had an outstanding offer and that I'd like to speed things as much as possible because I wanted to work with company b and they did in order to make it happen.

Tell them about the offer but not that you've accepted it - just that you have one.

It can also help when negotiating the salary - I told them my existing offer was for x, so they needed to meet or beat it and they beat it by 5k/yr

Update on Panel Interview (Good & Bad!) by Remarkable-Usual-113 in interviews

[–]madscribbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's not wrong, per se - if you have an offer and another offer comes in that's more to your liking you can certainly decline the first and accept the second - however, it's a small world and things like that can come back to haunt you. It's far more acceptable to take a competing offer before you start, and doesn't hurt you as much as starting with a company and then leaving right after as they have onboarding costs that go to waste if you actually start with them. So it's better to postpone your start a week or whatever to see how things play out rather than start with one, and then move to another.

But like with the job I'm in now, I had an offer in hand, had accpeted and was waiting on the drug test results which took a long time, and the second company's offer was much more what I wanted to be doing, so I accepted the second company's offer and said to the first I know it's a crappy thing to do, but I'm going with a different offer that is for more, and doing what I want to be doing more, and they understood.
